Have any of you ever eaten at This is It soulfood restaurant on West Gray near Bagby?

I just got back from having lunch there. Smothered chicken, collards, green beans, macaroni & cheese, cornbread and sweet tea. MMMMmmmmmmmmm good sticks to your ribs soul food.

It's naptime now. Please don't tell my boss. Pleasant dreams everyone.

That place absolutely rocks, I've never had a bad meal there. Also, in that same area, check out the West Gray Cafe.

I've heard nothing but good things about that place, yet I've never been.

one question: do they have mustard greens?

I think their menu changes every day, but I'm pretty sure they would have mustard greens sometime.

    What exactly constitutes 'soul food'?

There's a place like that in Austin called Dot's. The peas are freaking awesome -- real juicy and buttery.

    From Webster's:

    soul food
    Function: noun
    Date: 1964
: food (as chitterlings, ham hocks, and collard greens) traditionally eaten by southern black Americans

If anyone ever eats at West Gray Cafe, try the spinach w/ crawfish tails - unbelievably good.

I'm wondering why the Rockets didn't take C-Webb down there for prelimanary contract talks. C-webb would have signed a contract so that the Rocks would stop bugging him and let him eat.;)
