Please, we want the rockets to win. Not Francis to get 10 assists a game.

You dont get 10 assists a game unless you are passing all the time.

If Steve Francis did average 10 assists a game I guarantee you we would have more wins.

Stats are not an end all be all. However, they are oftentimes pretty good indicators. It's not a coincedence that players that have the best stats are also the best players in the league.

Well I could care less if Stevie was averaging 3 assists a game and we were winning, but you know what, he's averaging 5-6 and we are lottery bound. To make it better we don't even have a pick this year! Yippeee!

Say what you want about our supporting cast but there are other teams with a superstar and questionable starting cast that are ahead of us int he standing (T-wolves for example).

Steve finally has a big man and granted they are learning to play together but Stevie has not improved as a PG in his time int eh league. He may be a better player, but he'ss till not a better PG.

You know, win-loss is a stat. It's actually the most important stat in the NBA. ;)

Anyway, how can you really discuss a team or a player w/o using different stats? They might not be perfect indicators of performance, but they are the most objective tool we can use to look at things.

efsdfdsfs:- Francis main job, at the present time is to perform the leadership of the Rockets by being their Playmaker. If he does this job well and trusts the other guys, then he helps to improve the performances and development of his team mates. Yao Ming should be one of the main beneficiaries and in time should improve to be the main force of the team. Inorder to reach this desirable conclusion of the Big Mans Game, the Guards need to be bringing him along. Unfortunately, only a minimal effort has been made by the guards to effect Yao Mings improvement. I make this observation also in the case of Griffin, who has not been fully intergrated into the Game plan and seems to be floundering at times. From my observation of the last game, without Steve Francis, I noticed a lot less dribbling , but more passing of the ball by the Guards and quick movement of the ball to the shooters hands. The Guards only took shots when they had to, while concentrating on the involvement of their team mates. Francis is a scorer and not a playmater of note. The Coaching Staff needs to use the players to their best advantage.

It's obvious you don't care HOW the Rox play the game.

You would be happy with an ISO party, as long as Francis and Mobley's low% shots (contested and forced) go in.

    That would not bring consistency.

    DavidS,

If wins are coming, no one cares how we play. The most important thing is winning. I can watch Francis high-kicking all night if it meant a W.

You know. Winning just doesn't come with the wave of a magic wand? There's both a science and a psychology to the game.

The "high-kicking" is an idicator that his game is not the right frame of mind. It's all related.
