Demeco seems to be more of a player's coach who can lead a lockerroom and players can rally around more than a strategic x's and o's which he's lacking. Teams coached by this type tend to have a ceiling of mediocre to good but will lose against very elite/great team they face.

Nah. Antonio Pierce is the poster child of what you described. Demeco is just a tad green. He may have needed a few more seasons as a DC tbh. Just look at how the 49ers D has taken a dip since he left.

He has a system but he’s not stubbornly dogmatic about it. Ie Ravens playoff game and Bears game when he brought the blitz. He also adjusted the D in the second half so that Jefferson was contained.

Just because a guy is charismatic does not mean he can't coach. You're reading things into, and making mental excuses for, things that may (or may not) exist.

Yesterday was bad across the board. Maybe this team needed to be punched in the face in order to stop listening to all the hype.

I know he’s J Jefferson but I was very surprised to see him in what looked like single coverage so often, and given a massive cushion.

The offense was terrible. CJ seemed under pressure all day and the penalties were killers. Tunsil will always be good for one false start but you can’t afford 4/5 penalties. Not sure if it was the pressure or play calling from Slowik but I didn’t like what I believe to be the game plan. I really don’t want to go back and watch it.

There is a ton to clean up after a week like this. The entire team/coaching staff has to regroup, get better and be much more disciplined.

I’m not happy but won’t overreact after one loss.

I think it's tough to blame Demeco but he deserves some criticism. I love CJ but a lot of blame is on his shoulders.

We just got our butts whipped in all phases yesterday, it was ugly and the O Line has to do better, CJ once again has limited protection and was running for his life all day. We are still 2-1 and no time to panic, back to the drawing board and fix the issues, it's still early and were a work in progress, I have faith in the team and the coach.........................but yea, it was ugly, and it doesn't help the Astros blew a lead, just a sucky sports day in HTown

This is pretty much where Ive landed.

The defense did not play well, but they began the game behind the 8 ball and did an admirable job giving the offense several opportunities to make it a game again before the wheels fell off.

I need one of the reporters today to ask DeMeco what the thinking was in defending Jefferson. Going heavy zone the way he did seemed to play into what Minny likes to do. Didnt understand why they stayed with it as long as they did before they started to double and man up. Really weird.

It doesn't even make sense for other teams doing it. Too easy to exploit for any average receiver

The blame should be on Bobby S shoulders..

I do agree that the defense has to own it's mistakes along with CJ...

But, unfortunately Bobby is highly overrated.. It's one thing to come in with a game plan, it's another to understand you have to improvise with what is happening... He was just outcoached by Flores..

I don’t know who to blame for this loss. But, I will admit that I wasn’t convinced the changes we made on defense in the offseason were going to make us better. Players went out and players came in, but it didn’t seem like a big improvement. Now, we are missing a couple of starters that could maybe make a big difference, and we are playing a couple of young guys in the defensive backfield. So, we will see what happens in the coming weeks. I’m not going to push the panic button just yet. But, the offensive line needs to get their **** together pretty fast.

I blame Tunsil. Three times he had a drive killing penalty. It was demoralizing to finally get something going and have your “captain” LT continue to stop the momentum, that making a very easy adjustment would have corrected. He has had 7 penalties in the first 3 games. That is ridiculously unprofessional.
