You know, I got to thinking about how pissed I've gotten with the Rockets during different games this season. Then, I realized how pathetic it really is to come here after a game and eulogize on how bad the team was. This is a team that is lacking in quality healthy talent staying in games against teams that should be blowing them out. Even shooting 32% in the first half, the Rocks managed to take the lead and fall short in the end. This is a young and exciting team and all we do, win or lose, is complain. Poor us that we have to suffer so. Even those of us who aren't in Houston, SO SADLY, can only watch a team lose on League Pass! Count your blessings. There is more to life than wins and losses. We have young talented players who will very likely be here a long time. Find a positive for ONCE!
This team has been "young and exciting" for three long seasons. There comes a time when one gets sick of watching "good games", and wants to win, so excuse some of us for being a little frustrated with a so called "professional" team that plays like they're in a street league.
Right on Jeff...It's really sad how so many like to focus on the negative. I enjoy watching,win or lose.Sure I may yell at the tv when someone makes a boneheaded play but this is a fun team to watch and there are just as many positives to come away with.
Sorry, but I have to jump in here because I hate it when ZRB posts characterize all of us. The board isn't the problem and certainly isn't shameful. The BBS is really just a very small sample size of Rockets fans across the globe... like it or not, this is characteristic of how Rockets fans react, they just now have an outlet to communicate that to others. A lot of knee-jerk reactions will come out after a tough loss also. In ZRB's case, he should be on ignore lists (I don't ignore anyone being an admin, but I absolutely would ignore him if that wasn't the case). He is a painful and annoying read.
It's disappointing the Rockets keep losing, but the amazing talent that comes out in the games from some to all of those players is really amazing. Rockets games are always exciting with their clutch shots, amazing comebacks, close games and of course the explosive ability of Stevie, Mobley, Griffin and now even Cato. Go Cato! In fact.. just about every player on the team is exciting. This is a team that'll be a huge threat to all teams for seasons to come. Rockets forever!!!
No ZRB.. its ok to be dissappointed after a loss.. but the guys are trying. Look at the entire season.. Down by 10.. Down 20.. doesn't matter. this team is absolutely comming back.. Its only matter of time before these close ones turn all into W's. There a re not giving up. This is the team to watch. They are gaining experience.. Today I give the guys full props they deserve. Its only that, Nash and Nowitzki came up big for Dallas in the final minutes.. And they are not playing like street league(whatever that means). They are playing like an young and inexperienced team , which they are..
I'm sorry if I started yet another thread that isn‘t completely positive. I don't understand the logic in ignoring everyone you disagree with. If the every post was "I agree", what would be the point? But hey, ignore away!
what do you like about the rockets? i like that: for all their mistakes, mostly due to a lack of experience in playing with each other, execution of designed plays, and just overall decision making.. this team never say die. that's what i love about my rockets! how many teams do you know who will give up when they're down seventeen to a lineup of nowitzki, nash, and finley..with a team that's eleven deep... where at each position they're undersized compared to the other team? the rockets just do not give up, from the top down. we're continuously trying to improve ourselves. first we got the cat/thomas. then francis/cato. then taylor/norris. then griffin. each year it's a step. for the love of g-d. let's realize the improvements we can take, but like jeff said, let's see see the positives for what they are--i dunno, i just think being a fan would be a lot more fun that way.
What do I like? I like the Houston Rockets. I am a fan of the franchise, and I can't help it. I want to see this team win, and it pains me greatly when they miss the playoffs season after season. If I could suddenly stop caring about the team, I would, but it isn't that easy. I don't like to give up on things, and I can't give up on this team. I won't be satisfied until I see them win a title. It does bother me, however, when a professional team paid millions of dollars seems to give games away. This game seemed like a complete tank job to me, and I hate it.
Two responses Jeff. The first one reflects the real me: Jeff, I agree, this is just a game. The negativity is senseless, bashing sucks, and more anlytical talk is much more postive. Lets talk about what went wrong, certain defense that stunts Mobes and Steve. Optimal lineups that seem to give other teams problems. Lets quite whining about who drafted who and focus on schemes that can maximize what we have. Okay now here goes NCSTATEFAN acting like the sheep-of-the-board: Look Jeff you nitwit. Man you guys need to count your blessings. well not all of you but those that live in or around the houston area need to. I live in Idaho I D A H O! Do you know how many rockets games I have been able to see this year? ZERO, I would love to see the rockets lose just to see them. Then I have to come here and listen to people whine and complain about how bad the rockets are and how KT "sucks" Its getting pretty old. For those of you that get to watch most of the rockets games think about me. Freezin my hind end off in the great white north watching PBS cuz thats all that comes in on them there rabbit ears with tin foil on em. Just sit back and enjoy the freaking game. I cant plain and simple. On top of that I am surrounded by JAZZ and Sonic Fans. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. OH and Dave F. Shut up! AHHHH I feel better
You're right, of course. This board is unreal which is why I spend WAY WAY too much time here in the first place. What I should have titled the thread as was "Broken Records are Shameful." I think what happened was I said to myself after this loss, "If I go into the BBS and the first thing I see is a negative post from ZRB, I'm going to be pissed off." Here is the reaction. Pretty stupid, eh? Anyway, I apologize if anyone else took offense. I just kept thinking while I was watching the game that I know people are going to go off on how the team sucks because of a tough loss and something deep and primal in me wanted to say, "Well, if you don't like them, go watch some other team!" Emotions get the best of all of us.
