Watched this movie last night about on Amazon Prime and very good. It's a dramatic retelling of the 2018 rescue of 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped in a cave in a Northern Thailand. Beautifully shot and really captures the clausterphobia and danger of being in a flooded cave. After watching I went back and read about the original rescue and this story is dramatized with some artistic license but does follow the story pretty closely. One other thing I liked is that while it focused on the direct rescue it also showed some of the work behind the scenes especially the desperate effort of villagers working on top of the mountain to divert more water from getting into the cave.
One thing about the actual story was that the situation was even wilder than what was shown in the movie. There were a lot of people and groups claiming they could rescue the kids. Tesla claimed to have developed a mini sub that could be used. I think it was the right move for the movie not to deal with how much of a circus there was around the rescue but it was a really crazy scene.
