I live in the NW side of town and was wondering of switching to CLEAR for my desktop and laptop at home. First of all, how does 4G work for a desktop? I'd imagine it's slower than say ATT or Comcast. What's the general speed for Clear? I'm wondering on average how much it costs as well. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
Read over their website, they have most of your questions answered there. I wouldn't rely on it if you're a heavy data user, such as downloading torrents, ect. Its price to speed ratio is on par with DSL. You will have a higher latency, so if you plan on running xbox live or any other gaming systems as such, it is not recommended. Your speeds can also vary depending on network load. Unless you are wanting on-the-go internet, I would recommend sticking to a hardline.
Thanks for the reply. I went to their website and read a little on it. I know they do their best to sell the product which is why I wanted to hear it from people who actually have used it and their experiences with it. I don't download much of anything, mainly surf the web which is what I use my desktop for while occasionally uploading photos. A lot of the computer jargon has me mixed up a bid and googled some of the info to get more familiarized with it.
West Houston - near IKEA store. $45 a month w/ no contract of any kind, which I like. I've noticed that downloading files is slower, and I sometimes have to wait for longer, higher quality YouTube videos to play, but it's nothing I can't live with. I use Netflix a ton, and haven't had any noticeable issues there. Had it about 2 months now and have experienced zero downtime even in inclement weather.
