I'm going to say Steve's rebounding ablity and Cato's shot blocking. Hopefully when Sura gets back we'll be able to get a few more boards. What really killed us last night were those long boards that Steve could grab and Lue can't

What's the point of this thread, I mean really, we are about three starters away from being a good team, it will take time to find these players considering we traded away three starters but our potential with this core is no less great in fact some would say it is better with this crew than with the previous one's. You need to be taken out behind the woodshed and beaten with a board for this kind of nonsense.

    I agree
The long rebounds strangely IMO are from lack of perimeter foot speed

Lue is shorter but should be able to beat folx to the spot
maybe he just does not have the nose for the ball.

Whats the point of 75% of this boards threads..its all wanna-be GM talking about trades that will never happen and people who want JVG gone anyway. I'm sorry I missed the email that there are threads that are so much more important than others. If you don't like the thread don't read it and sure in the h*ll don't post a reply.

I had just noiticed from last night's game that there are things from last years team, that this team is missing..one being the long rebound and wanted to see if anybody else thought so as well.

    The passion on court.

All will be okay, we just need a couple of offseasons to round out the roster and patch the holes. A wonderful Christmas present would be Mo agreeing to accept a 15 million buyout.

This is a good point. Everyone has noticed our serious shortcomings at PF and the fact that our PGs are not playmakers on the offensive end, but we are getting outrebounded by about 3 boards a game at the PG between our two PGs and our opponents two PGS. Especially so against the kings who kill us on the boards.

Last night 17 Sac rbs at pg to 3 Hou rbs at pg
The first meeting 11 Sac rbs at pg to 3 Hou rbs at pg

And Lue din't grab one rebound last night.

This is one of our most serious issues.

I miss the total and utter hopelessness I felt last year - that we had an experienced franchise player who was never going to change his attitude and try to learn a team-based approach to playing. I miss really stupid iso ball. I miss a PF/C with really good rebounding skills who appeared to have topped out every where else.

I do miss Mobley - if he was playing in a disciplined team-based offense.

I am totally uncomfortable with the refreshing idea of hope and seeing dramatic improvements game to game in a team with a very uneven roster - the result of years of bad personnel decisions. The team passing is still very awkward looking - it is not yet automatic and flowing yet it is 100% better than the past 5 years. And who knows what may happen in the next month with Barrett and Sura playing. And who knows what could happen if JVG would give Weatherspoon some more minutes at PF in place of Juwan???

I wanna go back to hopelessness and misery.

There is nothing that won't improve the results of an undisciplined PG like support from an all-star caliber Grant Hill and a rookie PF picked in the last draft who can rebound and score....

In this for the long haul. We upgraded with Tmac and we need a few more upgrades.

Definitely the passion. It feels as though the commitment to winning has gone down. I doubt that's the case, I think these guys want to win. But the passion of Mobley and especially Francis was infectious.

I don't miss anything from last year's team. This team shows me greater potential and the last games they have shown me they could compete with almost anybody. When the shots start dropping for the role players, this team will Rock.
To get to the next level, we still need a solid PF.

Well said. I too am enjoying this season more because I see the potential of a T-Mac-Yao combo and the improvements game to game.

I miss Stevie dribbing the shot clock down, then dribbling the ball off his feet.

Sad to say, I miss Francis. Even with certain shortcomings, I miss the guy's fire and energy :( I know it could've never happend, but I sometimes wonder how a T-Mac-Yao-Francis lineup could've performed.

I miss the alley-oops. Francis to Cato, Francis to Cat, Cat to Francis. Have we even had even a single alley-oop this season?
