frankly, if i had my druthers, neither hillary nor jeb would run in '08. there are certainly things i like about Jeb, and of course his big brother, but i'm just tired of both the clintons and bushes. the country needs new blood. Condi, Rudy, Breedesen, Warner, there's a lot of interesting choices out there who aren't legacies.

 

A strong, successful female is the liberal/democratic answer to a southern evangelical. Civil and Women's Rights are the Liberal version of cutting taxes; and the ultimate women's right, abortion, is under the same perceived attack now - thanks to Sam Alito and the South Dakota State Legislature - that the ultimate Christian conservative ideal, family values, was under attack eight years ago - back when President Clinton, Ellen Degeneres and Britney Spears ruled the world. Bush can talk about religious tolerance all he wants, at the end of the day you know he's Christian, same as you know that a late-60s Wellesley grad who criticizes abortion still isn't giving up her RU 486 prescription or saline solution.

If HRC establishes herself as the frontrunner, she will attract the same wide-spread $upport that George Bush did when he established himself as a serious contender. Remember when W, in the middle of a Republican primary debate, said Jesus Christ was his hero, and adopted him as his unofficial campaign mascot? Maybe Hillary, and the Democrats as a whole, should start claiming to be inspired by Virgin Mary or Mother Theresa: "because they were moral, but also peaceful and compassionate."

Remember, she's still a middle-aged white mom from the Midwest, that's a much bigger demographic group than we realize, and they've NEVER had their own president.

 

I don't consider her hope, just another road leading to the same place Bush is taking us; down the drain.

 

Man the Hillary attacks are starting early eh! Can she do much worse than GW? I doubt it!

it would be nice to know the whole truth. and not all the opposing sides smokescreens that they put up.

 

I don't personally know of any Dems that do want Hillary. Certainly everyone I have seen on this board is for somebody other than Hillary.

I'm not a Dem, but I am against Hillary as well.

 

Rudy Guiliani or McCain for 2008. I won't vote for anyone else except these two with the possible exception of a strong Libertarian candidate. There are the only two politicians (along with a relatively few others in both the Dems and Repub side) I trust in the whole U.S. government. Almost everyone else can go to hell as far as I'm concerned.
