I started the thread for people to say what they liked about Palin. Now I'll address what we know Palin is not. She is not a reformer - She was warned by the judge that her antics in what became trooper gate was nearing a form of child abuse. She is being investigated for abusing her power to punish people for personal grudges. Now there is an effort by her side to hamper the investigation. Of course she originally said she wanted it, and then changed her tune. She is not someone who personally went in and made govt. smaller - The campaign lies about selling the governor's personal plane for a profit on e-bay which was untrue. She lied about firing the governor's chef to save the taxpayers money. She just changed the chef's title, but the chef remained on the taxpayer's payroll, and was never removed. She billed the taxpayers for travel expenses for all the nights she actually spent at home. She is not someone against pork barrel spending - Despite her claims, she actually added to the problem, by hiring lobbyists to go to DC and persuade Washington to send her more money. She was for the road to nowhere, then once the heat got too hot she changed her mind, but kept the money and used it on the road to the bridge to nowhere. She's not an educator - After toning down her creationism stances she finally decided that Creationism should be discussed in science classes if someone brought it up. She advocated this despite the fact that creationism has zero scientific value, and zero evidence to support it through the scientific method. She's not particularly honest - She has fed into all of the above embellishments in order to help create the myth that she's a regular gal who's tough, and no nonsense approach enabled her to shrink govt. and really bring the common man approach to politics for a change.
I would post in this thread, but people think I already don't like her and have some agenda against her.....oopss...I did post in this thread. Franchise, you are 100% correct, I hope the American public is not swayed by the lying ads and actually takes the time to eductate themselves about the dangers of this woman in a position of power. We do not need 4 more years, we need a true change in direction, and only one candidate is doing that. DD
I don't think any of the above facts matter to most McCain-Palin supporters. You guys are in the reality based world and this does not apply. The Palin pick is about harnessing the pain of the white working class, from 25 years of declining economic security, particularly women. . I am afraid that it will take another 4 to 16 years of Bush-McCain-Palin and more of suffering for these folks to learn. It might also take someone with a bit more fire in their belly than the polite nice guy Obama to capture their frustration electorally.
If you're going to go to the trouble of speaking for me, at least get it right. I never said that it was the ONLY thing that matters. I said that the words matter, even flawed as she is. The idea is bigger than the people saying them. And maybe some positive change could occur if the words are out there enough for people to actually start to understand the ideas behind them.
What has McCain and/or Palin said that talks about the Ideas behind anything? They have not spoken about anything other than McCain being a POW, and made up stories about Palin being a reformer. Their campaign has lacked a certain substance like quality....as in....there is no substance. DD
She's NOT unpopular,...She's NOT ineffective. She has shown an ability to climb executive leadership positions while taking out those less effective in spectacular fashion... Killing moose, shooting an M4 Carbine to boot...and yes she is NOT ugly! She will go down as the chosen ONE...The one who is the 21st century "Maid of New Orleans" due to her captivating inspiration...

The burden of proof is on FB to prove any of them. Accusing Palin of lying, hampering investigations, and then claiming creationism has no evidence to support it. Those are some weighty issues. FB has not proven any of them
Sure he has, the news articles have been all over all of those things. 1. She is under investigation for abuse of power in her home state, and the independent investigator says it is not looking good for her. 2. She has been lying consistently, about the Bridge to nowhere, about her being against Earmarks and about her firing the chef and selling the plane on Ebay....all lies. 3. The things I've said about her, or true, and there are stories detailing them in other threads. If you can't bother to read them, then don't bother making posts based on your ignorance caused by refusal to read. By the way, I said creationism has no scientific evidence to support it, and doesn't belong in a science class even if a student brings it up.
