I have a first date at a coffee shop later this afternoon. What are good things to talk about? What to avoid?
Talk about marriage, kids, your past sexual partners, and how it's been a while since you were last tested for STIs and STDs.
Ask her questions like "Who's better, Duncan or Hakeem", "Horry or Battier" or "Would you retire T-Mac's jersey". If she has the right answers, chances are high she's a true 99er and ready for a family with you.
To be serious: Ask about her interests. And then expand upon what interests you have in common and ask questions about what she does that may be unfamiliar to you. Interests/school/work. That is what you discusss at a first date.
1. what do you like to do in your free time? 2. tell me about your job and whether you like it 3. are you open to "in da butt"? 4. where did you grow up? How did you land in Houston?
Oh and be sure to tell her (not ask) that you're going to take her picture to share with people on the internet.
the evolution of the market economy in the southern colonies and whether the economic modalities (especially in the southern colonies) prior to the revolutionary war could be charactarized as agrarian pre-capitalist
If you're going in with a set of questions, then that's a bad start right there...conversations should be natural. You start with basic questions like, how long have you lived in Houston? What do you do? Oh really, nice, how'd you get into that? Then you just build off of each others answers and go from there. Predetermined questions can come off as awkward.
rezdawg is correct. Conversations that don't flow are usually awkward and uncomfortable. Big no-no on a date. It's a date, not a job interview. How old are you, OP? Also, having a sense of humor is a huge positive asset, especially if it meshes well with hers. It can go a long way towards establishing a good bond with her. Many women are emotionally and mentally stimulated. A man that can make a woman laugh is a big plus. Dates are supposed to be fun, so relax.
LOL, one of these topics is not like the other 3 and should probably be avoided on the first date. You should never bring up work on a first date.
