Mo Taylor tries to be an enforcer.

Maurice Taylor said in the preseason that the Rockets' big men would have to watch Yao Ming's back. Sunday, he said he did. Taylor said he squared off with Jamaal Magloire because he did not like the way the Hornets' center was treating Yao. "A lot of guys in the league, when they walk up on you, they don't want to fight," he said. "He had all this opportunity to fight if he wanted to. If that's what he wants to do, I don't have a problem with it. There were things he was doing on the court I don't think were called for. Things he was doing to Yao I didn't think were called for, cheap shots, elbows." Magloire did not seem to know or care what point Taylor was making, and Yao would see more physical play. But if Taylor was watching out for Yao, he might have accomplished something more than talking tough.

Even Mo knows we need a different sort of PF (than he is). Someone please tell Rudy. Too bad Mo doesn't box out and clear out down low, bang, or set big picks. It's ok with me if he woofs now and then, though. Too bad Rudy would still probably play Tmo instead of Cato if Mo were ejected.

Ok, sourpuss dogview aside, I hope Mo embraces the role and tries to contribute best he can.

Magloire plays like a punk, kinda like Brad Miller, and it was very obvious if you were at the game. That is ok with me, as this is often an effective way to play, but it doesn't mean you have to stand there and take it and it doesn't mean that you can't have a "punk" of your own.

    Way to go Mo.

The greatest part about it is Magloire played much softer after the incident, which helped turn the game around.

    I like it too.
Yao has been getting killed. And there was blood on his shorts? And when he just pushes a little bit, the guy falls down. That is ridiculous.
That was pretty cool, though. I'm very young and immature. :)

    ANYWAYS.
    About Maurice Taylor.
I don't expect him to make every single shot, but the only way he can score is by going one-on-one. I wish he could become a better player, but he's not. :( The only thing he did that was nice was faking THE TRACTOR ROBERT TRAYLOR. That was funny...the tractor was too slow. And then he threw it down. But that was all he did. After a while, he got too tired. If he makes his shots, then I will be happy. He doesn't have that much stamina or durability. And he never draws any fouls. Everytime he loses the ball, there is no foul called. I guess they don't like him. I just hope that he can get better. I still like him. :)

I'm glad Mo's becoming an enforcer. I think he'll come around and start playing better too, in time. He's coming off missing a whole season so I think he'll be alright.

I like the fact that the ref called a double technical instead of tossing the two. Good job, ref.

I don't know about Mo. He's been struggling. If he has found ANY kind of role to play until he shakes the rust off- I'll be pleased. Still waiting for the Taylor of 2 seasons ago. Find yourself, MoT!

    I am with u.
This team needs a badass powerforward to make it to the next level. Everyteam needsa bigman to take care of its little guards, or good centers against punks like Mcgloire(?) or even Maoone.

This picture is awful. What were they doing on the court?:) It's like a snapshot from a p*rn movie.

    Just kidding.

We need a bad ass forward who is willing to intimidate the other team when things get out of control. Just not sure whether Mo can be that guy.

The stupidity of Mo Taylor's comments pisses me off. These comments exemplify what is wrong with this person's attitude.

Maurice Taylor laughed off all the talk that was still echoing from his altercation Sunday with the Hornets' Jamal Magloire.

With 4:54 left in the game, Taylor and Magloire squared off at center court and jawed at each other. No punches were thrown, so both players were hit with technical fouls and the game resumed.

After the game, Magloire, perhaps on edge after the Hornets' fourth straight loss, was still upset, calling Taylor "a little boy who could not come and talk to a `big man' " like himself.

It was strange talk. Magloire is 6-10 and weighs 245 pounds, and Taylor is 6-9, 270.

    Taylor laughed off the words.

"He hasn't been in the league long enough to talk to me like that," Taylor said. "He has to get his contract done first. I can afford the fine. He can't. That's the difference. I spend that much at the club.

"If that's what he has to do to get himself hyped or to get his teammates behind him, then that's fine by me."

Magloire continued his rant, insisting that all the Rockets' frontcourt players -- save Yao Ming -- were dirty, another line that made Taylor laugh.

"Oh really? I've never been called dirty," Taylor said. "That's the first time I've been called dirty. I don't know whether I should take that as a compliment or an insult."

This is classless crap. Don't brag with your contract, put your f-ing act together, get in shape and play like you are worth all the money you are getting.

    Idiot.

Sir JC... couldn't agree with you anymore. I see the point of him sticking up for his teammates, and I think that aggressiveness is great by MoT. Bottom line is that MoT is content with having a large contract, but he's not earning his paycheck. Personally I think MoT could have taken Magloire.;)
