We could have thrown away a lot of key pieces from our team in hopes of freeing up cap space and then gotten completely screwed! At least we're not the Knicks (that is if Lebron doesn't sign there). They are glad to get Amare when he isn't even that much better than David Lee! Lee is a much better defensive player, hustler and rebounder than Amare will ever be!

Or the Bulls. Who look like they might strike out completely.

    Hold on there, cowboy:

Lee is the worst defensive PF in the league. That said, yes, Stoudemire is a minor upgrade over Lee and the Knicks aren't really any better than they were last season. In fact, they may be worse because Stoudemire may become disenchanted with playing on such a bad team.

The bulls to me value their role plays, border line stars at best, too much.
Several years back, they had the chance to land Kobe, but they hold on to Deng.
This year, they don't want to give up Noah for Bosh/Wade.

With Bosh/Wade in Miami and LeBron 99% likely to stay in Cleveland, those Knicks 1st-rounders are looking pretty promising. One unfortunate injury to Stoudemire and we could be looking at a high lottery pick.

I think outside the team that will sign Lebron, I don't think the other "max" players signed will bring their respective teams closer to championship caliber.

    Patience is key here.

BTW LOL at NY!!! Amare will be exposed in NY. D'Antoni's high speed offense strategy will only work with Nash at helm.

I think he wanted him for the right price, but I also think he knew that they were not really going to get him, and that some of the "Let's get Bosh" thing was marketing related.
