4 against lowly Leeds. I once beat a r****d in a game of checkers.

    That sums it up.

Well actually "4 goals against lowly Leeds" doesn't realy sums up the guy!
He can do it all! Is fast, strong, good header, knows how to score(in every position), shoots perfectly good free-kicks and is a nice guy!
Then again you can't say the Premiereship is known for it's defending...

Henry is very good, probably on the same level with a Ronaldo, Raul, van Nistelroy and some others (Ailton and Makaay are among the underrated ones). The best in the world, like his coach said? Not sure.

Actually he is crap at headers, but he more than makes up for it with his blistering strikes!

He's not too good at heading, and a bit weak with his second-choice foot.

Not on par with pre-injury Ronaldo, but definitely one of the best on the world at the moment.

I think he's pretty decent with his left foot actually. Certainly better than the left foot of van Nistelrooy, or the right foot of Raul.

Not to mention he creates chances for other players considerably more often than any of the other players he's being compared with in this thread.

as talanted as he is,part of his success lies with his teammates.
Arsenal are on a huge roll premiership wise but I'm waiting to see how really good Henry does in the Euros. As much as I can't stand arsenal I think Henry by far the best player in the EPL but in order to be great he has to step it up in the really big tournaments.

As much as I hate the guy, he's probably the best striker in the world right now. Raul is starting to get a little old, personally I think he's better than Ronaldo, and his overall game is much better than Ruud's, and that is coming from a United fan. He's a brilliant passer, which I think makes him better than Ronaldo, and can score from anywhere on the field, unlike Ruud who has never scored one of his 100+ goals from oustide the box while at Old Trafford.

I think you have it backwards, if you take Henry away from Arsenal, they would be pretty bad, he's the only guy on the team that can consistently put the ball in the back of the net.

Wow, he's been around so long that I thought he was older than that. His goal scoring has really declined over the last few years, scoring 41 goals in league play the last three years, including only 11 this season. In the same time frame, Henry has scored 77, Ruud 66. The last two years Ronaldo has scored 45.

How can anyone hate Henry? I'm sort of ashamed to like Arsenal - they're such an easy team to support from a distance - but Henry's easily my favorite player. He's a magician.

I do miss good old Nigel Winterburn, though, and Terry Adams.

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but who's your team?

    Romario
    Ronaldo
    Van Nistelrooy.

Judging from his post earlier in the thread he's a "United" fan. I'm guessing he doesn't mean Newcastle...

Quite right, I missed that somehow. Hell, supporting Man U from a distance is even worse than supporting Arsenal.

Yeah, I know supporting Man. United isn't exactly noble, but I've followed them ever since I got into soccer. Henry is a great player, it's just I can't like him when he plays for my team's main rival.
