Thibodeau has accepted offer. Neither Bulls nor Celtics will confirm officially during NBA Finals.

Glad he and his defense didn't go to New Orleans...

that's going to help tremendously in the FA race...He's never had athleticism like wade or lebron in his defensive system. I'd love to see how good the Bulls cna be defensively.

It should help them a lot defensively, but I'm not sure if thibs will be able to do anything offensively. He needs to hire a great offensive assistance coach.

Knowing that, I'll go out on a limb and say Rose is in the top 5 in the MVP race next year.... I'm not saying he'll win, but I think he'll take off under TT.

Actually, the report is the Bulls front office was impressed with some of his innovative offensive ideas. We'll see how it plays out. Just because he served as the "defensive coordinator" in previous stops doesn't mean he doesn't know offense.

He was the primary guy who worked with Yao Ming on his post-offense during Yao's early years (post-rookie season, of course).

I'm happy for him -- hard worker who's paid his dues. Its good to see a guy like that get his chance as opposed to an ex-ball player who's never coached a game in his life.

    It's about damn time!

How this guy hadn't gotten a head coaching gig until now is beyond me. Chicago should have snapped him up two years ago instead of taking Del Negro. I think he's going to work out well with the Bulls.

Personally, I'll be cheering for him big time. He's one of my all-time favorite Rockets coaches.

    Congrats, Tom!

Good for him. I think he will be a really good coach in the league. I am also glad he did not go to the Hornets!

Congrats to Thibs. I was impressed with this guy when I saw him coaching summer leagues for the Rockets. He took the games seriously and was really coachng out there. It's about time he got his shot. I'm sure JVG is pretty happy, too.

I still don't believe he's a good enough offensive coach to run an offensive scheme for a team. He'll need an assistant who masters in just offense.

The fact that he's never been a coach who's focused on offense. It's always been about defense for him.

Well Eddie Jordan might be had for cheap. Not a great HC, but offensive assistant is what he does best (since his defesive schemes are trash).

Yeah, I think Eddie Jordan's Princeton offense is probably exactly what Chicago needs. Tibs would've been such a great fit for New Orleans. They honestly do not need an offensive game plan aside from what they've always had... they really just need a great deal of improvement on defense and Tibs would do that there. It doesn't hurt to have in Chicago either though... you could see Chicago making the playoffs every season just because of their defense.
