http://sports.ign.com/articles/782/782133p1.html So far so good. The funny thing is, they used a NBA2k7 simulator.
Whoops, I meant NBA 2K8 They even mentioned that Lakers will upset the Suns after a 0-2 deficiet and says Kobe will go crazy in game 4 or something. If this comes true, I'll pee my pants.
Yeah, other than the individual numbers and maybe order, everyone of those scenarios could still happen. That's pretty crazy. Some of them even look like they will happen. Assuming they get the entire first round correct, there's no way they'd (and by they, I mean the Warriors) get past us in 7 games, and even if they did, there's no way they'd get past the Spurs. I would like to see us beat the Jazz in 5/6 and the Mavs lose so we can defeat the GSW in round 2 and get to the WCF...that'd be sick. We can always get revenge on the Mavericks later when we have a slightly deeper team.
Been posted. Besides it's not a very good simulation. We all know the Rox are going all the way! http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=127728
Warriors WC Champions! Yay. Nah ... in the most improbable scenario that they survive the Rockets in the second round, the Spurs are the masters at demolishing small ball. They'll be lucky to win 2 games.
The LaLa's aren't getting past the Suns.. Their Leaster Conference looks off.. the Raps aren't going anywhere.
The Raps are pretty good, my man. In my opinion they are capable of beating *anybody* in the East in 7 games, and that includes even Detroit. The only reason they're not going to end up in the finals is lack of playoff experience.
I agree they are quite alright, but I'm saving that one for maybe next season or maybe even the one after. And Detroit? that's a pretty high statement. Honestly I don't think the refs will let that happen if the Raps were to have a date with them in this playoffs. If only Yao has that kind of confidence you have in the Raps..
Nah, I don't have the confidence in them. They're too inexperienced -- essentially zero playoff experience on the entire team right up to the coach, and they're going to lose to someone -- if New Jersey doesn't take them out in the first round Detroit will. But talent-wise, they are definitely capable of beating any of those teams, and they're going to be a force to be reckoned with for a while.
Sorry, but I don't see the Lakers getting past the Suns. I have the Suns in 5. I had the Warriors beating the Mavs in 6, but losing to us in 6. Golden State can't beat the Rockets or Spurs because they play too small. Yao/Duncan would absolutely annihilate them.
If Golden State did get to the Finals, that would be embarrassing for the state of Texas. Most likely, the teams they'd have beat to get there are the Mavs, Rockets, and Spurs in that order. Kinda reminds me of how Carmelo and Syracuse embarrassed the Big 12 conference on the way to winning the national championship. They beat like 4 Big 12 teams in the tournament, including my Texas Longhorns, led by T.J. Ford.
That is EXACTLY what A.C. Green of the Phoenix Suns said about the Rockets in 1995 after we took out the Jazz in the first round. Be careful. After getting absolutely smoked in the first two games, we came back and beat the Suns in 7 (Mario's Kiss of Death) and took down the Spurs in 6 as Hakeem went ballistic on DRob. I'm not ready to put the Warriors in the same class as our 1995 champs, but your choice of words brought back the memories. Funny thing is, A.C. Green was a pretty classy guy and it was surprising he would say something like that. After game 7, he was almost defiant in picking the Spurs to beat us.
I'm not so sure about that. They are basically a Suns-lite type of team. Certainly they can't match up with Yao, but we couldn't match up with their speed/running game either. They would just play the surround-Yao-with-small-dudes defense and try to strip the ball, which Yao has struggled with moreso than a single big guy. Plus, they are on a ridiculous roll whereas we're really not right now. I'd prefer to play them over Dallas simply because they haven't proven to be as good over the long-haul, but from a matchup perspective, I'd much prefer Dallas.
I don't think the comparo to that 95 Rockets team is warranted at all. I don't see the similarities in style, roster make-up, or even in terms of experience. It's definitely reaching to try and compare this Warriors team to defending champs that enjoyed the services of all-time greats in Dream and Clyde, not to mention a rock-solid supporting cast that had already experienced winning it all the year prior.
The correct logic to use when evaluating who will win a series is looking at the MATCHUPS. Comparing a Warriors team to a team 12 years ago that looks absolutely nothing like them is pretty random.
