This has been a season of forced optimism... telling yourself that Swift is going to blossom, telling yourself that Sura is coming back, telling yourself that Alston has us in a better situation than Mike James would have ... chuck hayes had us dreaming again but he's back to playin average basketball like every other Rocket Now the trade dealine's coming up and we've pulled these two deals...I'm just hoping we're setting up for a valuable addition because that's what we need... In the past i've been emotionally attached to rox players, but this year i wouldn't care if they traded everyone except tmac/yao/rafer...you can have anyone else... there's gonna be some serious disappointment if I look at the lineup at the end of feb and see the same guys ...
Agreed... the player i would to see get traded is Juwannaman. W/ with his contract, I probably doubt that theres any light in that tunnel. I'm sad that moochie is gone, but I'll get over it... like right now. Hahaha
Alston for James is was not a meaningless trade. Surely you can see that by watching the games. Yes we lost someone who can score 30 a night but now we have a true point guard that can avg 6+ assists a game and set up the offense. The true point guard is much more important when we have T-mac and Yao on the floor.
Right on! And if the Texans don't draft Vince Young, trade for Ricky Williams and draft David Thomas, I swear...I'm never going to root for them again!
The Baxter trade was not meaningless either. Bogans has played only a couple of games and has already proven himself to be an effective perimeter defender, something that we were lacking in. And we didn't need Lonny anymore. That was a great move by CD.
Yeah, I like getting Bogans. He's aggressive to the basket which is a huge plus for us. He's a bigger, less experienced Wesley who is not quite as good a shooter yet.
first of all none of these trades are pointless. The only thing pointless is your thread topic. Getting rid of moochie was gettin rid of dead weight plus getting another big to maybe step in for Yao or Deke in case they get injured. We need a good Perimeter defender for taller guards since wesley isn't going to cut it against 6'6 kobe bryant. Plus lonnie wasn't going to move in front of Chuch Hayes in the Rotation. Alston is much more useful with his passing than MJ is with his scoring.
i agree both of these deals have some purpose/intent ... I'm hoping that intention is to make other rotation players expendable and make a more high profile trade possible i'm happy to get bogans for baxter too... but let's be honest there are good players being marketed out there, and I'd be disappointed if, with the kind of play we've seen, we don't make a noteworthy move it's sickening how many disclaimers you need to put in your posts these days... got some twisted lawyers on this board lol...i said i'll be disappointed, and all of the sudden I don't trust management, i'm calling carroll dawson an idiot, i'm hating on the team... just saying we have no chemistry on this team, let's see how we can get a rotation that makes sense
I've actually played in the same soccerteam as lampe whenI was a child..he wasthe goalkeeper and a litte bit of a cry baby
Better 'meaningless' minor deals than a big deal for this season that handcuffs Rox for next season(s). BTW - Mooch in a non-salary dump/buy out? Whoda thunk. BTW II - does this mean another 1 is needed -- still have Little Luke's #???
These are the same people that gave Moochie Norris a multi-million dollar contract. Anything is possible, and that is scary. These people don't know what they are doing, that is why they need our help.
This Moochie trade won't be meaningless, I'd wager. Since the player we got is practically nobody, and since we PAID the other team to take Mooch, I don't think we did this for salary cap purposes. Something could very well be in the works, and with all the NBA execs due in town this week, the talk will heat up.
