Seems Rick Neuheisel's jokes during a guest lecture were offensive to female students. http://www.thedaily.washington.edu/archives/00Au/12.4.00/N2.Neuheisel.html ------------------
Wow, it sounds like Rick Neuheisel's the most powerful speaker in the history of mankind. It's a good thing he didn't make a joke about women voting or the 19th Amendment might have been repealed.
I don't understand why people complain after the situation: According to a number of students, Neuheisel, while describing how football players have to be careful about the situations they put themselves in, said that players have to be careful not to "flirt with the wrong kind of girl." What's wrong with what Neuheisel said? Senior Paul Scoville...said he wanted to ask Neuheisel what he had intended by that comment but that he felt intimidated in saying it in front of the football players who were in the class. You have no right to complain afterwards. If so many people were offended, they would have backed you up. During the demonstration, the women assembled in formation at Neuheisel's behest and crouched down into a three-point stance with their backsides to the audience. According to those who complained, Neuheisel asked the girl if she'd ever been double-teamed before, to which the crowd burst into laughter. Neuheisel was trying to be funny. I guess people were shocked and intimidated that the head football coach of the Pac 10 champs has a sense of humor. His one liners, poor in taste cause of his position, were similar to what college students say all time. [This message has been edited by Smokey (edited December 07, 2000).]
Agree. That's like waiting to see if the ball goes in the hoop before calling a foul in pickup ball. Senior Paul Scoville needs to grow a pair. ------------------ There's nothing like the NET... clutchcity.net
