this loss was better than wins over the likes of memphis etc. we are improving at a tremendous rate. the competition is bringing out the best in us. coach adelman has us playing inspired basketball. he is proving why les, clyde and morey wanted him so badly. when tmac gets back we will be unstoppable. we will beat orlando (they suck at home) and then beat the knicks to be back at 500 which will be a great feat for coach adelman yao and the rest of the rockets. i love how they are playing right now with absolutely no quit in them. keep it up rockets!!!!!

Sorry, not buying it. This team was supposed to be elite this year and now we are talking about moral victories? I am not very interested in anything other than real victories these days. Too much hype and disappointment. It's shaping up to be a very long and very frustrating year.

I agree that you have to love the way we played against the Celtics, but there's a fine line between winning and losing.

The Nuggets game was supposed to be a moral victory also. How many of these do we get?

I'll take the wins. I don't care how ugly they are. We need every win we can get. All we're doing is digger a deeper hole for us to comeback from.

Agreed. I like Rocket's games recently.

Over time of JVG, I was always disappointed no matter whether we won or not. There were all ugly games... and we always have 4th quarter problem.

This year, I see Yao start to show leadership and carry the team over(first time ever) to close the game.Although he didn't do that again today, but overall, it was a great game for a center who is sick from flu and energy level siginificantly affected.

Great plays by bench players, and just being crazy, we should start wells instead of T-Mac if T-Mac shot 3-16 most of the time

    Agree.

Dont forget we are playing w/o a $20M player.
First thing is to get that $20M back into business.
    Then rockets can rule! :D

We played until last minute on Nuggets, that's the sign of come back.

Today, we played the best team currently in NBA and fighted until the end and even had a chance to win.

    There is progress

    Agreed.

Although I love the fight THESE Rockets have shown lately, I actually suspect that when Tracy comes back (whenever that is) the other players who have begun to shine will revert back to their passive ways. Tracy will get about 6 assists a game and suddenly that will mean that he's making everyone around him better. Not true. He creates open shots and guys (sometimes) hit them, but other than that his teammates generally forget how to play basketball as many of them are right now.

You can get guys open shots, but you can't truly make the guys around you better players unless you're a leader. Nash does this, Garnett does this, LeBron does this, Duncan does this. Tracy doesn't have it in him. End of story.

imo there is absolutely no such a thing called moral victory, in any sport. fans may take some comfort in a team's improvements; and granted sometimes strange things happen in a game/match. but from athletes' perspective, the sports world they're in are measured only by wins and losses. no no no, there's no such thing as a moral victory. and you'd never say a loss is better than any win. never.

    just my 2 cents.

I think this will be the last moral victory in a while. denniscd you were wrong about the win but you were right about being in contention for the win. I think you will be proven right on the win streak though.

Well.....HOW is Tracy McLady coming back to play Orlando Magic (scheduled Jan 4) and New York Knicks (scheduled Jan 5), as he now is diagnosed with more severe injury that might further sideline him for additional 2 to 3 weeks?

But I agreed that, without Tracy McLady, the Rockets now play much much more better, with passion, energy, intensity, heart, chemistry and never-give-up fighting spirits.

As Big Yao said it as long as every of the Rockets give their best and give their all in every game, the wins will come even without Tracy McLady !!

moral victory??? We lost tonight and we might lose again on Friday regardless how well we played tonight. We didnt get lucky tonight, a winnable game.
But yeah, the group without Yao actaully played well. We have ballers on this team, gotta play them more.

we were on winning streak until the last game in 2007.

Then we faced Warriors(which team Rocket always has trouble with, anyone remembers the first game we played with them), compare with that game and tell me whether we look good.

Then we played Boston who is 27-3, what a record. You seriously expect we beat them? I am kinda thinking whether Spurs fans would make that assumption.

Well, I guess you can't expect Rocket to beat those two, otherwise you are looking for maybe a leader in the league if we count from 2008.

So big deal? come on, give our team some breaks. The guys did okie.

It's sad that we are aiming for the .500 mark now. Didn't we just talk about championship at the beginning of the season? Things changed so fast..

You negative nellies realize that dating back to the Denver game, we are on a 6 game moral win streak. That is what I call progress...the ADELMAN way.

But now it is so important for him to be healthy and come back. We really need a scorer when we are against those elite teams! We only have one of the Duo. It seems not enough for the Rox to overcome Celics, blah, blah, blah.............
