There’s still a 10-20% chance John Wall can be a star.

Not a number one on a contender. Those are top 10 players . But he could be a middling #2 , a 40-60 guy in the league.

Despite all our negativity here for him , he’s coming back from a Hell of a time off and looks really really good physically .

we say his knee needs to be scoped ? Maybe , but we should just shut him down for rest soon anyways .

If he gets to the offseason with only minor injuries or none at all , he really should be better next year .

he’s not the wisest guy and he will he overpaid . But , I bet he helps get us to 20+ wins next year .

Nothing like setting the bar at 20 wins.

According to this advanced analytic evaluation on NBA players, his real all star potential % at this stage of his career is actually 18.257%.

guys in the 40-60 range aren’t middling #2’s...they’re good starters at best

people throw the word star around way too loosely these days

"Show your work," as my 7th grade math teacher would say. Show me how you got to "10-20%"

It isn't that he doesn't have talent. He is just a selfish asshat.

You must not watch rockets games much.. he will never be an all star again.. even if he puts up 25 pts 8 ast. He’ll take 25 shots to get 25 points.. can’t win like that

This is a guy who averaged 10 assists a game in a season twice (now 6.3) and averages 1.5 steals a game (now .9)- depreciating value. He is not helping the team and not playing defense. Unless he find some Fountain Of Youth, I don't see Wall scaring people except with his tats.

    athleticism mostly back ... was a 10 . Now 8 -8.5
    could be a 9 next year .

    Handle , still good . 8 / 9 .

defense and hustle . Pretty good . Could get better if he physically comes back more

I’m not sure his offense / decision making and shooting will ever go up . But if we can reduce his usage rate and have a defense that gets out in transition ; I can see him being a 20/6/5/2 guy who is a B on offense and B/B+ on defense .

I’m not 100 percent sure on distribution of letter grades among players , but if his physicality improves over the off-season there’s a 10-20 % chance things click right for wall and he is viewed around top 50/60

I just want to know if there is at least 10-20% chance Wall will pass the ball to Wood or KPJ for once....

Not sure I have measured the amount of hydrogen in his body via my TV and I'd say potential for fusion is @KingCheetah unlikely

Wall - Wood have only played 14 games together out of the 43 games (prior to tonight's game).

    Games 3-5 (3 gms)
    Games 7-9 (3 gms)
Games 17-21 (4 gms during this stretch)
Games 39-43 (4 gms during this stretch)

    per basketball-reference.com

Wall has averaged (w/ Wood) in those games:
    Mins.....FG........FGA.......FG%......3P.........3PA........3P%.......FT.........FTA......FT%.........ast........blk.......stl.......pts
    31.3.......6.4........15.9.......40.3%.....2.3.........5.7.........40.4%.....3.8...........4.5....…84.4%....…6.5.........0.8.......1.1......18.5

I was watching him closely and I don't feel he is getting much lift in his drives while being guarded. Not nearly getting that absorbing contact
and then rising as he has in the past (pre surgery). I would say he was barely getting 8 inches off the floor after contact, where before (w/Wiz)
probably could absorb contact and still have enough lift to get near 13 to 14 inches off the ground.

Note that's different from no contact and able to dunk.

This summer Wall will need to continue rehab and wear weighted vests, vs thera-bands, associates bumping him as he drives with those
strike/block pads (punch/kick pads). Lifting weights.

I had Wall getting 24 points per game on probably 43% FG% and Porter 23 points per game next season.

I'll adjust that to Wall getting about 22 points per game on 43% FG% 7 to 8 ast and Porter getting 25 points per game next season.

Not exactly "Star Player" level but better than this season for Wall

I've said all along, a 18/6 Wall would be a great third option.

The problem is he thinks he’s the first option and a franchise player.
