During the game somebody mentioned that Yao is playing like he is hurt, similar to last year before he went down. I don't know if that is true but I know for certain that Yao is not the same anymore, he's playing scared right now. Yes, I know we're only five games into the season but this is a disturbing trend. Not only his O is suffering but his rebounding and his D is suffering too. Flame me if you must but I'm going to ask the dreaded question: Should we trade Yao if we fail to make it past the first round again while he is still have some value? He have reached his max potential and wont get any younger. If the answer is yes then who can we get in return that would benefit us?

The best you can get is Pau Gasol.

If he keeps playing like this for the rest of the year, i would trade him in the offseason. but yao is to good to keep playing at this scrubbish level for alot more. he'll be back. i perdict he'll torch his fave gimp kman to shreds tomorow night.

Do something constructive for a change... So tired of "I'm more emotional and easily persuaded than 15-year-old girls" fans.

Jeez, those west coast teams should still give up major assets for him, there are teams that do not care about winning they rather have a golden goose.

If we lose again in the 1st rd we would probably keep Yao just because he's so marketable. As for McGrady he expires in 2010 and I suspect we would sign and trade Artest to start rebuilding. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

He is not playing very well, indecisive and non aggressive....he has lost his confidence.

Let's wait for a bit to make that judgement. but i agree with you, what we've seen in the last two three games from him really really is worrisome.

He's not playing well but the sky's not falling. He'll come around.

I don't know what, but something wrong is happening to Yao. First of all he is so SLOW. He misses shots he usually makes. He is not agressive at all and he can't rebound.

As you pointed he is scared. He is scared even of Przybilla.

Of course if he's hurt that would be different and that though frightens me so I'm going to forget that.

You see this is why I like McGrady's full disclosure of his injuries so we KNOW and don't have to fear that there is some sinister injury creeping up.

Although despite that McGrady's playing like a man right now.

Despite Yao's struggles, I feel like this team still needs to keep going to him as the first or second option. This team can't be successful long-term without him. Yao just needs to shoot his way back into confidence.

Unless he puts out 5+ more games like this, I am not convinced it's anything more than a slump.

Bad timing for a slump, but it's a slump nonetheless. There's no way to be as good as Yao and just start sucking.

    Unless it's a slump...

Yao's shoulder is still bothering him. The missed layups, dunks, rebounds,...... all indicating that Yao's shoulder is not right.
