A woman had pumped her breast milk into 3 bottles so she could feed her baby on an airplane. When she went through security she explained to the screeners what was in the bottles, but against her protests the screeners forced this woman to drink her own breast milk!!!!!

Once she realized that she really had to actually drink the milk pumped from her own body, she tried to reason with them. She explained to them that if she drank from a bottle it would be contaminated and her baby could not use it. So she asked if she could drink from just 2 so her baby would have something to eat. The screeners gave her the choice...drink from all 3 or don't get on the airplane.

This treatment is ridiculous and disgusting. If this were my wife this happened to I would sue the everliving hell out of everybody involved, the airport, the security company, the airline, the screeners individually...and anybody else I could think of.

Apparently she needed on that plane and drank the milk. And her baby went hungry. Unacceptable.

I heard about this on Conan O'Brien. He said she then was asked to go up and down the aisles when they served coffee. I think he got a HAHAHHAH...BOOOOO response.

    ok... how about this!

    G.I. JOE TOY GUNS CONFISCATED

Raleigh, N.C., Dec. 30 — Jacob Heckman, 8, and his 5-year-old brother, Braden,
    learned the hard way.

The two boys, who visited their grandmother in Durham over the Thanksgiving holiday,
were about to board a USAirways flight at Raleigh-Durham International Airport for
the trip back to Texas when the Christmas gifts their grandmother gave them aroused
the suspicion of airport security workers.

They confiscated the tiny rifles that came with the boys’ new G.I. Joe kits.

They were carrying their brand new toys they got from grandma on the plane with them
so they could play with them, said the boys’ father, James, who complained to a
    supervisor to no avail.

I looked at them and said, ‘What about the plastic hand grenades, are you going to
take those, too?‘ said Heckman, a police officer from Garland, Texas. He got mad at
me and said I better watch what I say.

Heckman said security workers told him he could either check the plastic rifles,
which are about the size of his index finger, or leave them in an airport locker for
someone to pick up. He declined both options.

I watched them throw them in the trash can, he said.

The G.I. Joe thing is ridiculous, but I'm not as sold on the ludicrousness (is that a word) on the original story. You have to know what's being taken in. No reason why the woman couldn't just breastfeed on the flight.

Who's gonna breastfeed like that in public?

It's a good thing those cops took away those GI Joe guns. I'd fear for my life if Cobra Commander, Destro, Dr. Mindbender, etc. were to board the plane.

I also don't quite understand what the big deal is with drinking it. Contamination?? please. Even so, they probably would have given her a cup or accepted her squirting it in her palm and lapping it.

You have to drink it or pour it out. That's all there is to it. There are such things as acid bombs; these don't need wires. It can explode with chemical reaction and spray many people, or just pour it on one hostage.

Not to mention that they make bombs out of liquid. sheesh.

Who knows how something like this might get through, but I'd rather they make you drink it just to be sure.

People should stop arguing with these security people and just show up an 1-hour early. She could have gone through that security check early and pumped some milk in the restroom.

I've seen women breastfeed all the time in public and on airplanes. If you've got to ensure the safety of the airplane and you want your baby to eat, breastfeed.

Now, if they made the woman suck on her own nipple, then that's just wrong.

Or show up early and pump in the restroom AFTER going through the security gate.

Yeah, if you're a family with a baby and you're not arriving at the airport two hours in advance, then you shouldn't be allowed on the plane for just being plain stupid.

I had to wait in line at the security checkpoint in Miami for nearly 30 minutes for people rushing with babies and idiots who can't listen correctly (if you notice the person in front of you having to put everything in your bag, don't wait until it's your turn in line to do the same).

You can't expect a woman to have to breastfeed on a plane. Do you realize how close together the seats are? C'mon.

What if she had bottles of baby formula with her? Are you going to make her drink that too? You can't get that back from the body, you know. At some point common sense needs to take over.

Common sense? Check out heypartner's post, his have the most common sense in here. I know that if I try to take liquid, no matter what I say it is, through the security checkpoint at the airport, it will be checked. There's no reason she couldn't pump the milk after she went through the checkpoint.

I've seen women breastfeeding on an airplane before...no big deal.

Yeah, a mother with an infant bringing an acid bomb in a baby bottle on an airplane.....that's just bursting with common sense.

I believe you when you say that a woman breastfeeding on a plane was no big deal for you. Why would it be?

Why should it be a big deal for me?

There's such an easy solution to this, and possibly, even if that possibility is remote, allowing a bomb onto a plane should be the main concern over a mother who should've realized that liquids will be tested.

So, I guess we should just stick to Arabs. There weren't any women with babies who hijacked the planes, nor where there any white men. Just every person with a darker shade to them should be bothered.

Do you not think if Al Qaeda figured out that they weren't testing certain things that could be bombs, they wouldn't find a way to get passed it.
