I just heard "Hey Santa" by Wilson Phillips for the first time this week. But I think it is playing in every freakin' store I go into right now. That has to be the most annoying Christmas song ever. It is horrible! PLEASE STOP!!! Thank you. I feel better.
I absolutely hate that Paul McCartney's "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time". That awful keyboard intro just makes my skin crawl, like fingernails on a chalkboard.
In defense of Axl (won't hear THAT very often), he does say, "It gets worse here every day." 'scuse me while I kiss this guy....
My wife just doesn't appreciate the comedy that is, Elvis' "blue Christmas". Everytime it comes on I give her my rendition of garbled lyrics. If you can do a breathy mumble to the tune, then you can sing that song. The only lyrics you have to speak clearly are "I'll have a blue, blue-hoo, hoo Christmas"
Oops. And I really do like the song....after reading my post it sounds like I might of been saying the opposite.
I tried to come up with on better, but after about 3 minutes of thinking... couldn't. That version of the song is great.
You people are all full of crap, as usual! The best Christmas song ever is a tie, between: "Merry Christmas (War is Over) by John Lennon and Yoko Ono and "Father Christmas" by the Kinks
Who sang that song with those two Canadian guys? "On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me a beer............................................." Christmas Eve Sarajevo rules among Christmas songs, though. One of the best instrumental songs ever...
I always liked "Holly Jolly Christmas" but only sung by Burl Ives and in his snowman form as animated by Rankin and Bass.
I think it was Bob and Doug McKenzie (sp). I love to hear that one and the Cheech and Chong bit. But the one that I get tired of easily is "Grandma got run over by a reindeer."
