England, Ireland, USA. I'll be rooting strongest for the Americans I think. However, I am more familiar with the Irish and English - I bet that will cause a bit of a problem if any of the above three should meet :(

The World Cup is such a great spectacle.

I always root for the underdog (USA) and for as long as I can remember, rooting for Brazil is part of my family's heritege even though we aren't from there.

    USA,

We have a great chance of getting out of the first round this year.

Also England, though if Beckam and Neville are out it gets much harder for them.

Beckham is a big loss. Neville is not. And I wish the US the best, but I don't see them getting out of the first round...

    Go England.

I guarantee you Beckham plays, even if he's not 100%.

Whether or not he is effective, will be the question.

Beckham is the best right midfielder in the world.

I watch the cup religously. Although I am not sure how Im gonna do with the time difference problem.

I just gonna have to deal with tape delay and such.

Big National team supporter. I agree with DaDa, if we can handle poland and korea we really should make it to the next round. we are good enough, but history is against us. korea being a host has the tradition of host nations NEVER being eliminated in the group phase. and with Portugal as a big time favorite we gotta really make someone suprised.

Otherwise I will always root for argentina as they were my fovorite qhile I was growing up. Maradona had alot to do with that, but I still root for them if the USA is eliminated

But in Cup play you better tape his elbows to his body so that he doesn't goat it up for an entire nation again.

I just heard that Sir Alex expected Beckham to be back for the Champions League Final. The bigger problem is for the team to be there. :(

    Croatia.

    I don't know why.

    USA of course.

I wish Iran was in it, or North Korea, or any other axis of eeeeeeeeeevil.

Real - Barca is tomorrow. Today is Leverkusen - Man United.

There's going to be lots of Jovi body parts flying around these parts, figuratively of course, if one of little chirpy Uter's 8937428 teams bows out to United.

Maybe it´s better to wait five more hours to point out that ManU has always had a hard time against German teams. That is, in regulation.

    We´ll see. Should be fun.

It's funny. In 1994 when Italy miraculously made the final, I rooted for them...I was one year removed from living in Italy for four years (military). Italy played against Brazil. Now, after college, and learning Portuguese and having Brazilian friends, I'll probably root for Brazil, even though the team is usually such a juggernaut. It'd be almost like rooting for the NBA's Lakers (blarf!). Damn, I thought the Italians were nuts for soccer, the Brazilians are absolute maniacs.

    Uter,

So, the guy who's saying to wait five more hours is the same guy posting "Bye Bye ManU" last week? Make up your mind!

    :D

Well, since it´s almost impossible to mess with members of the Clutch Crew, let me again point out that my post was a little provocative.

I actually made a reference to a Toppmoeller quote some ten years ago.

It has always been interesting to see how you use your power against people you don´t like.

How about Leverkusen blowing the Bundesliga title last Saturday and now facing even more pressure? Might have shifted the momentum.
