With all of the draft and free agent hype, you cant hide the fact that the west's elite are only going to get better.

San Antonio- NBA Champions- Still very young- Duncan, Parker Kidd? Oneal? This team could be light years better then last years champs. (thats scary)

Kings- Great team Chemisrty- they are'nt losing nobody- they can be btter next year as long as everyone stays healthy

Lakers- Shaqs working out, Kobe will come back better then ever, and Payton and Malone join the squad?

Mavs- They are young, and Cuban will do anything to win, they might not get better then last year, but they wont lose a step either.

Timberwolves- KG is the man, Hudson showed everyone that he is legit, add Cassell and Howard and this team is a contender

Suns- Very young- had a good draft- they are on the rise

The West is gonna be so good next year! The new Lakers, Spurs, and Healthy Kings are better then last years champs, The Mavs and Wolves will both be in the hunt. And the Suns and the Rockets will be long shots to contend. I cant think of another year where there was so many good teams in one conference!

The west in 2003-2004 could be the most talented conference ever!

    What do you think?

Yeah, its gonna be really good, but we've got to wait til teams actually start to sign people before we start calling it the best conference ever.

The East and West need realignment. New Jersey would have had a harding time beating the West's eighth seed, Phoenix.

If realignment is not feasible, then something has to done to make the East stronger because whoever wins the West wins it all.

Both Darko and LeBron are in the east thats a start. Its going to take time for the east to catch up. The west has all the big men, the east needs to start getting them, they got Darko this year he will make Detroit a dominant team in a few years

I believe that there is pretty much a finite level of talent in the league, every time certain teams get better, certain other teams or players get worse.

I know this puts the brakes on the sky-is-falling, everybody is getting better but us, we must trade maurice taylor for gary payton and Karl Malone or get left behind ravings, but I have to believe that simply with a new (better) coach and another year for Yao etc. this, the Rockets will be one of the teams tha gets better, not worse.
