yup i believe we can do it!!! we gotta play a balance ball of princeton offense and gundy ball to do it!!!

 

To be honest our next 7 games are very winnable with the exception of New Orleans which truthfully we are better than. We just have to take care of West. Paul is Paul

4 games out of the top spot in the division and we dont play any of the tougher foes until March. Its time to take advantage of this.

 

Well, we are only 4.5 games behind, with like 30 to go. It's actually possible.

My initial reaction was, pass whatever you're smoking. But it could be done.

 

More appropriate thread title should be "We CAN win the SW division".

We most certainly can, and not in the sense that Random_Hottie_04 CAN walk thru my front door in the next hour.

We will need to continue at about an 8.5 out of 10 pace and hope the other teams play no better than about 7 out of 10.

 

I hope this isn't a jinx thread.. like that "we have an easy schedule coming up" thread last year.

 

We could, but the real question is can the Rockets beat the Mavs, Spurs, or Hornets in seven? I don't feel real confident about that, do you? Any of those are tough matchups, although I might want to try the Spurs. If only hyperbole really accomplished anything. Just saying it doesn't make it real.

 

After the trade today, my confidence in a series win over Dallas just went up.

 

Actually its the hornets that worry me they always have some guy step up, usually its rasual butler, now it could be pargo or heck Flyin' Ryan.

Paul is also the most dangerous PG out there...he has really work on his jumper which makes him even tougher to stop.

i think the rockets *could* do it. It really depends if they are able to win tonight and not let the break of the all-star game stop the momentum they had gained. i think 3 years ago when they had a 7-8 game streak heading into the ASG they promptly lost the first game back. For the team to be considered elite and make noise they really need to have a 10+ game win streak to make up any real ground on the teams 3-5 games above them.

i mean a we went 11-1 over the last twelve games and havent really gained ground on anyone, still out of the playoffs (technically). the teams above them are still winning at a very high %. The rockets would need to keep up this torrid pace to win the southwest and get a top 2 seed. I dont see it happening as March does have its stretch of tougher games. hopefully by then the team is prepared because they have shown they can beat any of the elite teams (cept dallas) this year. they played very close to boston and NOH without mcgrady, who if anything this year has shown that he is a difference maker in the last 3 minutes of a game.

 

yep yep.. if we handle up on Sacto tonight and beat NO, we could potentially go undefeated in Feb.. that'll be awesome!!

I would not go so far. Let us ctach up with GSW and Denver first. We have been behind those two teams for weeks already even though we are winning.

I don't think we will win the southwest division but I think we will win the west. I put down my 8$ on it, 25-1 odds wtf awesome.

Actually I think winning the west is easier than winning the southwest division. To win the west we only need to go 12-9 against 3 teams. To win the southwest not only the team have to keep winning every possible game, you also have to pray that the 3 teams before us start losing and you have no control of it.
