USA vs. Spain doesn't start enters game with 3:38 left in first quarter, Spain down 16-3 and a blowout on the horizon. leaves game with 7:30 left in the half, Spain down 28-20 +5 starts the 2nd half, Spain down 45-33. leaves game with 1:53 left in the 3rd quarter, Spain down 63-58 +7 enters game for final time with approximately 7:00 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Spain down 74-66. Final Score: USA 86 Spain 85 +7 Rubio's team: Navarro, Garbajosa, Vasquez, Marc Gasol, Rudy Fernandez, Jose Calderon, Felipe Reyes USA: Derrick Rose, Chauncey Billups, Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, Lamar Odom Rubio was +19 against those guys, playing with a much inferior cast. Without Rubio, the USA crushes Spain. Rubio almost single-handedly defeated a team of US all-stars. Don't you get it?
Say whatever. I would be willing to bet he wins more NBA championships than Durant. He is a transcendent player. He controls and effects the game like Magic and Bird did. One word - WIN. Ricky plays to win. And he wins.
It's convoluted with guys that don't know bball spouting off that he only scored 7 points and Rose and Curry burned him. Not worth posting to.
and yet he will never be a #1 pick. those kind of once in a generation guys (and that's what you are describing) is predicted to be a #1 pick YEARS in advanced with the way scouting is done nowadays. last year, he was going to go 5th in a fairly decent draft (not overloaded with potential superstars outside of a few). but hey, whatever you're smoking, pass it around. we all need it.
Kobe - 13 Jordan - 3 Wade - 5 utter garbage. Teams ahead of him didn't draft him because they had two issues: 1. He is a Euro and as such they do not trust their valuations of Euro players. 2. He let it be known he didn't want to go to certain places and he used the threat that he was going to stay in Europe (which he did). I am secretly hoping that Morey uses Melo as leverage to get Kahn to deal this kid to us for a package of draft picks. I'd rather play with what we got and add Rubio next season as to do anything else.
did you even read my post? nowadays, scouting is too advanced. lebron was predicted to be #1 in high school. john wall was predicted #1 before he played his first college game, and so on. kobe bryant was a high schooler, and he was one of the trendsetters so teams didn't trust how high schoolers would perform back then. jordan was in 1984 (and hakeem olajuwon was also in his draft) wade? lebron anyone? lebron was going to go #1 in any draft. melo and bosh were more visible in college. do not trust euro players? uh, we hav a ton of euro players nowadays. it's not like he's the first or 2nd euro player my friend. and he already is hyped. and everybody has seen him play v. NBA players. if he was THAT TRANSCENDENT, he would go #1 or 2. and he won't. he's known to every GM and team. he's very visible. if he's that good, he would be here last year already going #1. is blake griffin a transcendent player? maybe, maybe not, but it's not a sure thing. again, last year was a fairly decent draft. and he didn't go #1. jordan, kobe, wade? you wonder why they weren't drafted #1. you lived in a cave my friend? you should know the reasons damn well.
So, because he didn't go #1, he won't be a transcendent player??? Useless, illogical logic. Watch da game, man.
that's not what i'm saying. i'm just saying he's already hyped, and if he's a transcendent player, people would hype him up to be a #1 pick. that's just how it is nowadays. HYPE. and i watch the game. he ain't a transcendent player. he's going to be a VERY VERY good player b/c he has certain skills that every PG needs (and he already has it at such a young age). transcendent? that's magic johnson at the PG position. that's oscar robertson. that's michael jrodan. that's lebron james. you're putting him in that class? now that's illogical.
That's actually useful information, b/c it gives some idea of how he played offensively and defensively. Much better than +/- and a partial list of rosters.
LOL He was though! ... I remember scouts being amazed with him holding his own during the 2008 olympics, when he was 17 yrs old, and was going up against the likes of Paul, Kidd, D.Williams, etc ... soon there after all the mock drafts had him at #1 But then he had the whole "buy-out" issue, which caused him to drop in many mock drafts! and ultimately had him dropped to #5 on draft night .. where douche bag Kahn picked him, despite Rubio showing no intentions of going to Minnesota... --RB
I once saw Carlos Arroyo lead Puerto Rico to a huge win over the USA, also with an inferior cast. How's his NBA career working out for him?
