As demonstrated by Smith.... the value of a pure point guard even one that cant shoot is for all to see.. They make everyone play better.... Brooks must not start as point guard for our team... he must be off the bench or traded... We have enough scorers in the starting line up... we need a playmaker... also we should of signed Dampier.... we need depth at C... J.T / Jefferies should of been traded....
Just like the Spurs game, our tempo is much improved with Smith running the show. His defense is a vast improvement.
even so, a midget SG should come off the bench, not be the starting PG in a lineup that already has a scoring SG, PF, and C.
I predicted threads like these coming up these next five games but I did not think they would come this early. Smh. Wolves, bro. Wolves. Although I do agree that Ish is the best playmaker on our team, let's not get all crazy.
Are we trading our starting point guard, who averaged 19.6 points and 5.3 assists last season, by the way, because our third string PG played well for a half against the T-Wolves? Really? REALLY??! Okay I'm in.
I don't see him saying Ish should start, but he might be right about Aaron. We cannot keep trotting out the same lineup and expect a different result.
The Rockets did manage to score a lot of points vs., say, the Lakers with the non-PG running the show. The issue I see with Brooks, mostly, is that he's not a good defender, and he and KMart just seem to compound each other's defensive problems.
Excellent Thread 5 stars !!!! Everyteam needs a playmaker in the starting lineup...to control the game and decide who to give the ball to and when... Look at Chris Paul... how he makes and average team beter...
ish is a poor mans lowry. maybe he can make kyle expendable since he will be on a much smaller contract, but i don't think what he brings can replace what brooks gives us.
...and the game isn't over yet. LOL, I know it's the T-wolves, but the Rockets are or were worse than them until this game
Ok let's give the guy some credit. There are a lot of differences between Ish and Aaron and the benefits of an Ish are on demonstration right now. Ish is a primary passer and its apparent. He creates for the rest of the team and he's done a good job of catalyzing this entire group. Yes, it is just the Twolves but still. Give Ish his dues. This season Aaron has been less of a facilitator and more of an offensive black hole. Ish has pushed the defense by running the ball down the court, he hasn't let Minnesota get in it's formation for D. All in all he has shown tonight what we need to do against other teams. Yes, it won't be as effective against the best in the west, but to turn around and say it won't be effective at all is an oversight. This team has the right parts, its just a matter of finding the right configuration.
You miss the point ..... Brooks 19.6 points is at the expense of having a playmaker..in the team.... A point guard with 10 assist average is more important then a point guard with 20 point average... !!!!
We lost that game. The difference was the team. Courtney Lee has just as many assists as Ish with half the minutes. Lee wasn't that great in previous games at dishing the ball. The difference is the Timberwolves sucked.
