I'm serious if you have nothing nice to say about it then don't comment. We've talked all year long about needing a third option to compete and till this day we haven't made a move here is the move to solidify us as one of the western power houses. Atlanta trades: PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (19.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 3.0 apg in 38.1 minutes) PG Dan Dickau (3.7 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 10.3 minutes) Atlanta receives: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.5 minutes) Change in team outlook: +7.0 ppg, +6.8 rpg, and -0.4 apg. Houston trades: C Kelvin Cato (4.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.1 minutes) SG Cuttino Mobley (17.5 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 41.7 minutes) PF Eddie Griffin (8.6 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.5 minutes) Houston receives: PF Shareef Abdur-Rahim (19.9 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 3.0 apg in 81 games) PG Dan Dickau (3.7 ppg, 0.9 rpg, 1.7 apg in 50 games) Change in team outlook: -7.0 ppg, -6.8 rpg, and +0.4 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Atlanta and Houston being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Atlanta and Houston had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you go all crazy look at the lineups: Us: Ming/Meech SAR/Taylor/Braggs JJ/SAR/Nachbar Pike/JJ/A.griffin Francis/Dickau/Norris while pike and a.griff are out we will start nachbar at small forward and JJ at shooting. later we could move francis to the 2 guard and Dickau to the point. I think the hawks should throw in a draft pick top 5 protected. Them: Cato Ratliff ???? Mobley Terry E. Griffin and T. Brandon and next years cap space will be enough to jump in the Kobe Sweepstakes. Imagine the hawks if they land Kobe its scary
No way they'd do the original deal, much less throw in a top 5. We need a trade section on the boards or something so trade ideas don't clog up the GARM section
hey Griffin, Cato's value might be higher than you think now. Cato+Mobley+an expiring contract worth $2+ million is about S.A.R.'s value, considering the Hawks has been shopping S.A.R. around for a while. i won't do it though. i think Cato's a better compliant to Yao at the 4 than S.A.R. i'd do it if it's Mobley+Taylor+Griffin and we bring in S.A.R. as a small forward. but then I doubt the Hawks would do it. Yao, Meech Cato, Braggs S.A.R., A. Griffin/Nachbar Jackson, Pike Francis, Norris the starting line-up would give us 85pt/40reb every night.
Yao, Meech Cato, Braggs S.A.R., A. Griffin/Nachbar Jackson, Pike Francis, Norris No Way. how much deficiencies would we have in the front court.
As soon as Francis goes down for a month with an injury, you guys would be wishing we had Mobley running the ball rather than Moochie driving around the paint in circles.
Yao'll start the offense at left low post; S.A.R. play the mid-range game that he's best at; and Cato do the dirty works.
Exactly! No real BBS trade is complete without Moochie involved. Until then i'll have to veto this trade.
I'm serious, if you make up crappy trades, I'm gonna make fun of you. Seriously, why would Atlanta give up an allstar type plyer in Rahim for Cat and the Notorious E. G.? You can get TRADE ACCEPTED to pop up all the live long day on that site, but it doesn't make a trade feasible.
I think Clutch and crew would frown upon a p*rn forum. It is, afterall, a basketball site first and.... I'm sorry, what? Oh, you mean.... Nevermind.
I'm also tired of people putting titles like "Trade of the Year," "Best Trade Ever," and "Perfect Trade" on all of their trade suggestions. Is it so hard for you trade thread starters to show some humility?
What do you expect the titles to be like? "Ho-hum trade" "Mediocre trade of the year" "You won't quite like it, but wht the hey" I still would like to try and get both Avery Johnson and Micheal Redd. I think we MAY be able to get Avery for Moochie, a chunk of the exception and a 2nd rounder. Then we try and get Redd and Kukoc for Mobley Griffin, and another chunk of the exception. I think we'd be willing to do this because Kukoc and Avery bring off a colelctive 10M off our cap, which would more than make up for the chunks of the excpetion we'd give away. Kukoc doesn't really play for Milwaukee, while Griffin (when he returns) would start, so would Mobley, and the exception is basically free capspace (i.e. Kukoc). Yao/Cato/Meech MoT/Cato/Kukoc/Braggs JJ/AG/Boki Redd/Pike Francis/Avery Johnson/Wilks Thoguhts?
You know... that's not bad. Not bad at all. I think I'd wait until we see how Pike fits in before I pull the trigger on it, though. Worth considering though. You'd just have to make sure to wear a sweater at the games to compensate for the draft created when the Rox are on D and Kukoc's man breezes past him.
Why do you homers think that anybody will take Griffin right now? Also, why would the Bucks trade Redd when he is their future? Why would they trade Kukoc when his contract comes off the books after this season? And no, it doesn't have to be titled "ho hum trade," just leave the adjectives out. "Trade Idea" "How About this Trade," etc. All I ask is that you guys look at it from both sides. When you look at a made up trade and think "wow, that guy could helps us skill wise and that guy can help us cap wise," don't you ever consider that those guys are already helping their current team that way?
lol nice Sane.... it is getting really old though to see nothing but "trade of the year" type threads. it would be a lot more interesting if the titles were like that though...
