I have delivered pizza off and on in the area around Westside Tennis Club for the last several years, where several Rockets players live. Kelvin Cato gave me a $3 tip on about a $20 delivery order, which is cool. However, on a similarly priced order, Cuttino Mobley tipped me a little over over a buck and took forever to come to the door. When he got there, he berated me for not ringing the doorbell, which I had rang several times and had knocked repeatedly. Another time, his son paid me with a $50 bill which I had to go back to the store to get change for and was not tipped when I came back. (Not his fault though, kids don't know about tipping.) However, Sean Kemp, who I believe was practicing at Westside during the summer, came into our store to pick up an order and held the door open for me when I was coming back from a delivery. Nice guy.
Well you can't possibly be all that surprised.....it is common knowledge that Cat's basically the most selfish SOB in the western conf.
While I'm not sure if you can make a connection with selfishness on the court to insufficient tipping off of it, I really wish he would give up the rock a little more. More passing, guys, you're still not getting it. Fundamentals.
I'm glad our players (especially Cato) are sticky to their diets...Cato doesn't need to be eating any pizza, period. And Shawn Kemp? Ha!
When I delivered to Cato's house, which was actually a few years ago, he was having a swimming pool built which surrounded the house like a moat around a castle. I'm glad his bloated salary is being invested in something useful.
Ever heard the nickname "no tippin Pippen"? Apparently Pippen is one of the worst tippers at bars and restaurants. Never leaves more than 5-7% apparently.
