I say we should really make a bid to get another lotto pick and draft etan thomas.

indiana for years used dale and antonio davis at the PF spot rotating them and playing them together. both of them could start, both of them can rebound, and like antonio kenny T is a much better offensive player, and like Dale D, etan is a much better Defensive player.

i say we draft Etan thomas. we can rotate kenny and him in and out of the PF spot for a long time. they both will still get very good minutes, as we can play both when cato is out or when one is struggling put the other in.
we still could use a backup C though. i suggest getting that big guy from Ohio St. he is supposedly another good shotblocker. maybe he can light a fire under Cato's ass.

i would draft thomas if our pick is after ten, and would really try to trade or use orlando or detroit's pick to try to get him. i still say D. Miles would be a great 3 for us to get.

How about we draft Etan, trade for Tim, and sign Kurt. With Kenny already on the team, there won't be any doubting our team.

sir-Then nab John, and bring Isaiah out of retirement?

BTW: Salsa-The Tim he was speaking of, was Thomas, not Duncan [IMG]

I like Etan Thomas, got good defense, and a little offense, and isn't undersized.

But, I'd be hesitant to get him with our pick (#11) He's not slated to go till about 15 or 16. I'm liking Oyededji more and more for that pick.

I don't know how solid an NBA prospect Etan Thomas is, but it seems like he could play a little center too from what I've read. I've always liked the idea of having three main frontcourt players take almost all the minutes for the power forward and center positions. That leaves three players with starter type minutes, making it easier to keep starter quality players. I'd be pretty happy if we could draft a player who could be comparable with Dale Davis. He's one tough player in the post.

I don't know why Etan Thomas and Ken Johnson (the OSU fellow) aren't getting more attention. Outstanding defensive players, a little offense, and both 6'9" or higher. What more do you want with a mid-first round pick??? Of course if Pryzbilla and Oyedege are even better, we can pick one of them first. IMO all these guys are going to hang around the NBA for a while, all you can ask of late first rounder.

BTW-I was 1/2 serious. I think Tim and Kurt happen to be decent FA signees to consider, and Etan a decent mid-first round pick. In addition to all being younger players fitting what we need more of (defense and athleticism at the 4/5), we can confuse our opponents with our players (Hey Stevie, Rudy says this play is for Thomas!!, this play is for Thomas !!), and also we save jack$ by ordering duplicate nameplates and jersey names.
