The_Conquistador has designated this week as The Succulent Circuit of Steaks. I will be eating a different type of steak each night in order to determine which is my favorite.
    Monday: NY strip
    Tonight: Ribeye
    Tomorrow: Filet
    Thursday: Porterhouse
    Friday: TBD

I would like to know what are your preferences for steak. How do you like to prepare them? Which cut is your favorite? Below are two educational links.

Don't worry, I'm taking my fiber pills to keep The_Conquistador's Colon cleansed.

IMO, nothing beats a good ribeye cooked medium rare. Light seasoning, salt only really.

If you want to experiment with different cuts of meat, with little seasoning (so as to savor the flavor of the meat mainly), go to Fogo De Chao (sp.) on Westheimer. They use little flavoring and you can get all you can eat cuts of different meats for like $30.

Nutritional data for a pound of NY Strip:

May need to supplement the circuit with some calorie burning activity.

I'm with codell. Nothing beats a medium-rare ribeye. Nothing.

You're gonna have to take some major laxatives very soon, along with a fat flush.

The NY Strip on Monday was excellent, as was tonight's ribeye. The ribeye had more flavor, but the strip was more tender and thicker. A tough choice, but I'll have to stick with the NY strip thus far.

Medium NY Strip is my favorite.

Speaking of, this past weekend I tried Pappas Bros Steakhouse for the first time. I have to say, I was a little dissapointed. Not bad, but I expected more.

The porterhouse is actually one side strip loin (NY Strip) and one side tenderloin (filet). No meat from the rib section there.
