A reality show idea of one of my friends that is picking up some steam.... If someone offered you 10,000 for the rights to your life story would you take it?
$10K? Absolutely not. $100K? Then I'd be willing to listen. Would it be Kramer style where you could never tell "your stories" again b/c they happened to someone else (a la J. Peterman?)
Considering that my life isn't all that exciting, 10 grand would definately do it. BTW, would your friend offer you the oppurtunity to host the show?
This sounds like the Canterbury Tales. Ahhh #$!@, I'm back in the #$@&ing computer lab writing this stupid paper again. Hope I don't miss any fruity puns. NO one would buy this story, its too damn boring.
My life stories are easily worth more than ten grand. I'd hold out, or let them see what I would let them know for ten grand, and then say how much for the rest...
Ahhh therein lies the hook. The show's producers, by way of investigation, would know intimate details about your life before they made you the offer. However, you would not know exactly what info they had. They would also pay a "bounty" for information that would far exceed the 10 grand. As a stipulation, you could not make any more money on your life story or the TV show itself. $10,000 to expose the most intimate details of your life to the world? Stand by while the networks, filmmakers and writers asses the true value of your life story and possibly make millions. I think it's kinda cool.
If it were for a TV show, I'd do it, but I'd want a percentage of the royalties. Say 3-5%. I'm good enough for syndication.
That would undermine the show's concept. You've got to completely give up the rights to your story and then watch everyone else make money off it.
Claro que sí. Pero tienen que encontrar alguien que se parezca a mi, así como Jamie Foxx se parece tanto a Ray Charles o WILL SMITH se parece tanto a Muhammad ALI.
To invade my personal stories and history for all the world to see? For $10,000? You've gotta be crazy. To be fair, for that kind of invasion, $500,000. No less, and I'm probably short-changing myself. The person that does this for $10,000 has nothing of interest to tell.
