I am still thinking we will start KT and Mo and maybe make a trade during the season some time.Or maybe sign a backup center and see if him Cato or Collier can produce and then move them into the starting role,JMO.
I just don't know guys, I have heard so many reasons why we should get/have Marc Jackson & many reasons why we should not get him. At this point, I am ready to just start Cato & see what happens. Damn it, look @ what you guys have done to me I can't belive I'm actually saying stick with Cato. What a mess. Screw it, get Marc Jackson. He can't be any worse. Right?
As much as I hate to say these words, I think Cato (uggghhhh!!) will be our starting center at the beginning of the season. Rudy likes to keep someone in there until they prove they don't belong. And part of RT's agenda will be to put him on stage , in full view of his teammates and the world, to finally produce. That being said, I have seen nothing yet from the Tin Man/Lion/Scarecrow that suggests he won't go on the IR with a career threatening hangnail or sore throat within the first couple of weeks . I think they would LOVE to start the season with Griffin at the 5 but don't want to expose him to the rigors of the position until he has a little more experience (and muscle ). Wouldn't surprise me to see him starting, however, by midseason esp. if Cato pulls a Cato. With respect to Collier, the jury is out. He showed flashes of ability to shoot, grab some rebounds, and set a good pick before he got injured. While he is not the answer at center, he could be a serviceable backup option a la Doleac. Having said all this, I still would not be surprised to see some high profile trading to secure a Jackson or (even better) LaFrentz. Management knows they screwed up big time with Cato's contract and probably see this as a "put up or sit down permanently" year if they can't move him.
