My favorite parts from a speech that has the potential to be one of the best ever (depending on what happens over the next year or so)...
I thought it was pretty good at parts. Nothing epic or anything. However, after listening to the poem that was read shortly after, that was probably the greatest speech delivered in the history of mankind.
It was an OK speech. The time for great speeches is past. The election is over. Now is the time for Obama to get down to the business of leading this country out of the economic, energy and diplomatic ditch back on to the road. I don't want speeches anymore. Obama needs to get to work. I think his speech and demeanor indicated he feels the same way, which I find refreshing. Unlike the last 8 years, this country needs straight talk about the challenges ahead. Fantasy Island is over.
I found it hilarious that the camera was panned directly at George W. Bush for the majority of this segment of the speech.
Not sure what your point is exactly, other than to be a douche as usual. Sure, he was nervous. Doesn't mean he "flubbed the oath" when it was recited incorrectly to him.
That's the guy! You know you've been working too hard when you can no longer resist that cardboard cutout of Hillary! But what a freaking cool job. (and he seems good at it too). Not only blow the minds of your grandchildren stories there -- but amazing pick up potential with the Washington socialites.
He probably was nervous, jackass. Roberts recited it incorrectly. And it's more important than anything you'll ever say, so President Obama as the one-up over you.
Now that's depressing for us guys in our 30's. Of course this gives that poster who was depressed about turning 20 something to look forward to.
Since apparently the transition was automatic at 12PM Eastern Time when Roberts flubbed the Oath Obama should've just said, "Meh... whatever..."
Here you go. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/20/us/politics/20text-obama.html D'oh! Dumbartonbass beat me to it.
