The Soccer nutcase who called in to 97.5 ESPN yesterday!

Did anyone catch this on the drive home around 530 - 6pm??

Carl Dukes was telling people to weigh in on weather soccer would be come as popular as American Football here in the US.

This Englishman called in saying flat out, "SOCCER IS THE ONLY SPORT THAT MATTERS". He went on to say that Soccer Athletes are tougher and his reasoning is because they dont need shoulder pads and protection like American Football players do."

This went on for like 20 minutes, him saying American fans are incompetent and only smart people watch Soccer.

This is where it got weird and freaky. Carl asked him if he was married and he said "No, my wife divorced me". Carl asked "may I ask why" and the Englishman said "because I would not allow my kids to play any other sport other than Soccer"

He said he named his two kids - Keeper and Striker, when asked why he gave them a name like that, he said "If my kids are to play in the world cup, they must have names people will remember"

Then some other angry callers called in to state the case for football over soccer, Carl Dukes started getting really frustrated with the guy and the Englishman goes "Well Screw you!"

At this point the converation had gone on past 30 minutes and he said to them that he also makes his kids write him a report about the world cup games every morning.

Who else heard this and thought damn, this guy would probably murder someone over Soccer! I never heard anyone that stubborn and obessed with a sport.
