    Fellow BBSers,

I know many who have been on the BBS for many years have always asked yourself THE one question: What do people around here really look like?

Well, this Sunday, I met with SmeggySmeg AKA Joe in the big apple.

We (Smeg, his wife, ma woman and myself) met in front of the NBA store and we then walked to a restaurant called Pasta Lovers on West 49th. First let me say that if you go to any Broadway shows and need a place to eat after, this place is EXCELLENT. And not too expensive either. Meal for 4 is 100 beans with tip.

Anyways, let me talk about Smeg and his wife. They are THE MOST DOWN TO EARTH PEOPLE YOU COULD MEET. Seriously. My wife didn't understand how the hell I was so psyched to meet someone I only chat with. I explained to her that Smeg and a few of us from the BBS have been "friends" since 1997. I wanted to meet that certain group of us for years and FINALLY, one was on their way to NYC!

Well, they guy couldn't be nicer. His wife also. We talked about everything for 3 hours. From world views, to our love for NYC, to him and his wife maybe starting a family to even the greatest news of all! That Smeg actually considered moving to NYC! Of course, I was biased when it came to that issue. ;)

We then left and I gave them a ride to their hotel which was on the east side. It was rather cold by now and we all talked about that they are praying for some snow. Normally, that would not be a good thing. But for them, I am praying for at least some flakes so Donna (his wife) can see how pretty it can be.

Smegs tour doesn't stop at the Big Apple. He will be heading out on Friday morning. They have a full month in the USA and will be traveling to Milwaukee, HOUSTON and to Disneyworld in addition to some other stops before heading back to Australia.

Again, I have to say that it was so cool to meet Joe and his wife Donna. Really, really enjoyed it. My wife and I came away thinking that we just met the coolest couple ever! They were great people. I have been actually looking at vacations and we will most likely try and make it to the land down under though my wife HATES to fly. But we also talked about that and we suggested to her that being drunk is actually a good thing when up 38000 feet and traveling at 650mph. It would be great to have Joe and Donna show us the good life down there.

Here are a couple of pictures from the restaurant. Nobody brought a real camera. This is from my cell phone. Hopefully they are clear enough.

If you care to know who is who, Smeg is the guy with the beard. I am the animal next to him. :)

Thanks Smeg and Donna! You guys were really great!

Pretty sure he's stopping in HOUSTON, dumbass. Not exactly "just another stop" to most of us.

    And your links don't work.

Not at all. I figured it was obvious that my reply was tongue-in-cheek about a GLARING omission, considering this is a Houston board, for the most part.

    Lighten up, people!

Wait, I thought you were proud of being rude? Now you're making excuses for your rudeness? Stick to a personality type please, dumbass.

    I come from Houston.

BTW, on your sig, I like that idea for the WTC much better, especially considering I worked in the original 2 tower.
