I'd put Brandon Miller, Walker, or Hendricks comfortably at the "3" right next to Jabari and wouldnt think twice. Give me the 6'9 guy that can shoot, defend and add length to the starting 5. Seems like we have plenty of 6'6 - 6'7 guys on the wings already. I just so happen to prefer Hendricks. You cant look around to other teams and think its applicable to what we are doing here. Not like Romeo Langford or Mathysse Thybul have made anyone regret not drafting them. If anything Boston should have held onto Desmond Bane if anything a 40% 3pt shooter who can play a little defense. I agree with your point that the draft is not exact science, but if all you do is take the big board every year and throw a dart how does that result in complimentary basketball it starts to feel like you're trapped in a revolving door without a plan.

I am not sure those picks are getting such a player. Id love to be wrong about that though.

Well, I like the idea of Walker (especially being a Coog Alumni) but there's only so much time available at that spot and I'm not real sure how he is going to get real minutes when you're looking at a front court of

    Sengun - 34 mpg @ C
    Smith - 32 mpg @ PF
    Eason - 28 mpg @SF / PF
    Martin - 28 mpg @ SF / PF
    Garuba - 20 mpg @ C / PF

    WALKER. . . .

I'd be fine with packaging Martin and #20 if it moved us up to somewhere in the 13 - 15 range. Give Walker Martin's minutes and pick up Lively II to backup Sengun.

If Walker was any good you people in Houston would ne all over his arse since he’s a Couger. The fact nobody cares to pick him fourth says it all. Whitmore or nothing.

    @Plowman
I'm fine with that trade back for #6 and #11

    Get
    #6 Jarace Walker
#11 Dereck Lively (won't get past Lakers wherever they pick #17 or #18)

They represent much of what Ime Udoka wants in big men
and what the NBA is morphing towards.

Pick up a point guard if Lively isn’t there…

Well, isn't that the same as TyTy. They will need to develop (like TyTy).

Here is the thing with me. I just looked up first apron of 23/24 team salary.
    $169 million.

$62 million in cap space takes us to nearly $120 million.
Here is where is get Harden and Cam Johnson

Gives us approximately $49 million to add more free agents.
Here is where I get Jevon Carter or Beverley....Naz Reid

Key to me is moving Tate, Kenyon, Nix, others to bypass cap hold
    issues on our free agents.

Umm good question. I was just piggy-backing off a previous post.

I know I'm seeing proposals the Magic should trade for LaMelo Ball
since the Hornets are probably drafting Scoot Henderson.

So I feel Orlando will trade for LaMelo and he goes to
the head of the class over Fultz, Cole Anthony, Suggs.

Would the Magic need to use those picks to swing the deal...or
future picks plus current players not named Banchero-Wagner.

    I have it as:
    #1 Spurs Wemby
    #2 Hornets Scoot Henderson
    #3 Raptors - trade - Amen Thompson
    #4 Orlando Brandon Miller

    They would go (Orlando)
LaMelo - Brandon Miller - Franz Wagner - Banchero - Center

I know Brandon Miller is 6'9" but he can guard 2 (SG) and 3 (SF).....
    and he can shoot.

If they wanted Amen or Whitmore such a move makes sense. They don't have time for multiple rookies as Paolo, Wagner, Fultz and Carter is knocking on the playoffs door next season. Both would fit in nicely there I think.

Sure the part comes when they actually play actual league games, not somebody that is touting big things way before those guys are somewhat ready.

Scouts have been way wrong before.

I also do way less research and chill in the offseason as fans should be doing.

LaMelo, at 21 and on a rookie contract still, is going to get a haul. I think it'd require Paolo or Wagner the same as it would cost us Green or Jabari.

So they’re using our pick to trade for LaMelo? Why don’t we do that?

I just don't think in this draft moving from #6 to #4 is worth another lotto pick. If it was a consensus Four-Men draft, maybe, but ORL will have good pickings at #6, so highly doubt they'd be so enamored with somebody at #4 to sacrifice another lotto pick.

Plus, as we found out last year, they are very good at keeping their preference secret, so it's quite possible they get their man at #6, whoever that is...

People continue to overrate Paolo. They will need to add some really quality vets to make the playoffs.
