Okay, I find it hard to believe that this doesn't have its own thread... but looked for a while and couldn't find one (please delete this if one already exists.) Saw the midnight showing tonight, and... best.movie.ever. If you are a fan of the TV show (not the stuff they throw out now, the classic laugh out loud stuff) then I will be thoroughly surprised if you don't walk out with a smile on your face. Heck, I am pretty sure people who don't like the show will even like this movie. Hilarious.
it was awesome really funny it was like they got all the writers from the 90s to come together and work on this film. i have to see it again real soon there was so much laughter from the audience that it drowned out a lot of the following dialogue. but its a 9.5/10 easily in my book
I had free passes but when I got there the guy said it was full already, and it was an entire 1 hour before the showing. I will definitely see it this weekend.
Definitely a movie worth watching. Not as good as original Simpsons (but what is??), but much better than I was expecting. Was glad they didn't fill it with cameos and celebrities though (except Tom Hanks!), but where was Jon Lovitz!?!? Albert Brooks kicked ass. Was also great to see John Schwartzwelder's name on the writers credits. (real fans know what I mean).
im glad its got some good reviews. i was a little worried that they'd put out a stinker...now i have to dodge all the previews so i can go in the theatre fresh
true. I'm sure a lot of the main reviews wont rate it too high...any more thats not about something "deep" usually gets average reviews.
i was pissed that it was president arnold swarznegger and not PRESIDENT McBAIN....thats gay!!! that's clearly mcbain
OH and I STRONLY SUGGEST that you see this movie at 11 AM. As early as you can. If you go in the evening, there will be a bunch of 13 year old idiots making noise, people laughing at EVERY part even when it's not funny....and of course idiots who clap during a movie....
It was ok. I enjoyed it of course as a devotee of the Simpsons growing up, but it wasn't "hilarious" in my opinion. I was actually disappointed somewhat that in a movie about the Simpsons they didn't do more with all the side show characters that made the show so great.
gotcha I'm one of the guys who thinks the Simpsons fell off hard, and i wasnt expecting much from the movie. Overall I thought it was actually an OK movie. If you are/were a hardcore fan, chances are you'll probably enjoy it. Again, I strongly suggest you go during the day to see this movie, or go see it in three weeks after everyone has seen it.... And why wasnt it President McBain....????? Do the new episodes even have those McBain clips?
