I was shocked when I saw it yesterday before I watched Ice Age II.

To add a little more detail to what I saw, they showed like a closeup of the Superman logo and the voice was all saying "Everybody is waiting for the most anticipating movie of the summer", then when it zooms out, its Homer sitting on the couch with a Superman shirt on with a beer, in his underwear.

The animation is the same as the show, I was hoping they would do it all 3-D esque like that Halloween episode where they showed Homer in the real world.

It's like 10 years too late, but I will go see it.

If it was it still wouldn't be good.

How come everytime we talk about the Simpsons, somebody always has to say something like "they suck now" etc. It's so played out to say the Simpsons suck, that stuff was old like 4 years ago.

Hey I love The Simpsons but the last few seasons I just cringed a couple of times, I think the characters are becoming too one-dimensional and everything is too cliched...the stories aren't as intriguing and developed but I still will always watch it when I can!

I've moved on to Family Guy.

But I still watch the Simpsons when I eat dinner at 5pm.

I'll try to catch Sunday's to see the preview.

I'm just curious as to what the story will be, since the show's been on for like 17 seasons and is being renewed for another 3. How can they possibly have any ideas left.

That's your opinion, I happen to believe Ice Age 1 was entertaining.

I read an interview with someone from the show a couple of years ago and he said that Bart may lose his virginity to an older girl. He may have been joking though.

There may be a sequel too.

Answer this question, yes or no, has the Simpsons passed its peak of popularity? I'm not talking about quality of show, although it is somewhat related. You remember its peak? The Simpsons merchandise was everywhere. You couldn't go to the mall without seeing something Simpsons. That is when the window was to capitalize on a movie. I will support the movie cause I like the Simpsons. My point wasn't to say they suck now, but that is true also :D

I prefered the second one. The first I didn't like too much, and I think I favor this one since Sid and Manny are buds throughout the movies, instead of the whole tension in the first movie. My gf prefers the first because she loved the whole baby subplot. The possums in the second were great but did get annoying sometimes.

I liked Ice Age 1 ok enough, but it just seems like there is a animation overload these days and I've lost interest in them. I want to see Pixar's Cars, but I'm really waiting for my kids to get a little older so I can take them.

Just mentioning The Simpsons will turn the thread into a hater one.

I was actually expecting Ice Age II to be a little better. The possums kept the movie alive. Might have felt like more of a drag if they were not in it.

My wife and I thought that Ice Age II was better. Now that someone reminded me of the human baby, I think that was why. I liked Ice Age, but this one had better tension and better weasel (or squirrel or whatever is after the nut) scenes.

My cousin is the head of visual effects for BlueSky Studios, who made both Ice Ages and Robots....he just got a month off from work because they wrapped IA2. He'll be happy to hear its getting good buzz.
