They may have ended up with the best three players in the last two drafts.

The texans should have drafted him, but I can understand why they didn't.

They still have to go through the Broncos in Mile High later this season.

I don't think carr was a b.o.b guy, otherwise he'd be here. tom savage on the other hand is a b.o.b guy. :( womp womp. we've seen little of him before tragically being plagued by injuries.

Khalil Mack and Derek Carr in back to back rounds? That's how you draft.

I wanted us to trade down for Mack & Carr. I actually liked Carr more than any other QB, knew we wouldn't even consider him.

That's kind of besides the point though, isn't it? He looks like he's taking the next step as a player, and at this point, that's all you can ask for. It's called player development, and it's something the Texans sorely lack.

Don't forget about Gabe Jackson who may already be a top 5 guard.

luckily the texans don't need help at the QB, LB and O-Line positions...oh wait

it took a couple decades but Oakland hit it right it, seemingly.

Carr could turn out to be the best QB in the last several drafts

I really wasn't sold on Derek Carr last year but I was willing to wait and see given that he had virtually nobody to work with offensively. Reggie Mackenzie has made some savvy moves in the draft, but he finally got some pieces in free agency instead of continuing the Raider tradition of overpaying has-beens. Donald Penn, Gabe Jackson, and Rodney Hudson are a devastating 3/5ths of a line.

The offense is really becoming legit, but the defense is still a work in progress. They need a legit cover corner, a middle LB who can actually cover somebody, and C-Wood isn't going to keep playing like this forever. Khalil Mack and Aldon Smith should be getting more sacks than they have so far.

But it is nice looking at a roster consisting of real NFL talent with legit blue-chip players like Mack, Cooper, Jackson, and maybe Carr.

Still sucks that the Texans weren't smart enough to draft him.
