I know that Bama not taking 3 knees after securing the first down following the INT puts a sour taste in a LOT of neutral fans mouths regarding the SEC. Granted it was just Bama or the coaches, but when your fans are sharing the SEC love, you get the good and the bad.
I'm just wondering why their fans resort to conference pride so readily, even before the gun goes off. ---- does anybody care about conference pride enough to care? I mean you'd never see Duke fans chanting "ACC" after an NCAA tourney victory, or etc.......... I actuallly think it has a lot to do with southern pride or something.
yeah, i think it's a southern "we're gonna rise again" "we only let white players play" "alabamatuckasee" thing. I'd never cheer for the Western Conference representative. **** that ****. Rockets or bust.
Nah. I don't care much, I actually only casually root for the horns to try to not lose the identity of my early years (I almost went to UT for both undergrad AND law school, instead went out of state to non FBS schools . . . but trust me I was mad during a gut wrenching loss during the FCS playoffs a few weeks back . . . but when my FCS team beat an FBS team this year, I didn't feel like chanting "FCS!!!!" by any stretch... ). I just think it's silly that Bama fans would want to celebrate their conference over their program . . . even before the game is over. I mean, come on, F Missisippi State, Auburn etc....it's your time to shine.
The SEC has been so dominant this decade, I think members take pride in that. Also, the SEC has a lot more history than the Big 12 or PAC 10, so I think there fans are proud of that. Big 10 fans tend to route for other Big 10 teams in the Rose Bowl each year. I could care less about the chant.
Dude, the next time you see a Michigan fan rooting for Ohio State or vice versa, please let me know. I've seen a LOT of big 10 games, I've never heard a "BIG TEN" chant ever. Ever.
It's normally used when we play ACC teams. They chant A-C-C, A-C-C, A-C-C if there going to win as we do S-E-C, S-E-C, S-E-C
