I know there's another "24" thread floating around (somewhere), but that one is like 2 years old. I thought we could use a new thread solely devoted to season three.

    So, where to begin?

    - Jack is a badass. Always has been. Always will be. So far, no complaints.

    - I hate Kim's role (and haircut) this year. Lord, she looks so dorky! And she's supposed to be all smart this year, which is highly annoying and unbelievable. As much as I loved to mock her viciously in seasons past for being young, stupid, vulnerable Kim, I now miss that side of her (wow, did I just say that?). Note to FOX: Less Kim talking technobabble nonsense, more Kim getting caught in a bear trap with a hungry cougar looking on.

    - I have a negative opinion of Chase so far. He seems to brood and whine a lot. Plus, he has no discernible personality and thinks he's a total badass, in an Ashton Kutcher kind of way. Maybe they'll kill his character off.

    - I don't see where President Palmer's storyline is going. What does a dumb debate and re-election tomfoolery have to do with bio-terrorism? Here's hoping the two main storylines merge in the future. Also, I'm praying for a Sherry Palmer appearance or two. Hell, at this point, I'd settle for Lynn (Ensign Ro from ST:TNG, who was one of the president's advisors last season). So far, from what I've seen, I think D.B. Woodside (the president's brother) was much better as the principal on Buffy...

    - I like how Tony and Michelle are being handled this season. The whole marriage thing is not a distraction on the show (yet), like I thought it was going to be.

    - Kyle Singer is an idiot. Plus, he looks like Kyle from the Real World Chicago season (who is now on Days of Our Lives, BTW), and I find that distracting. I am actively rooting for him to die, which hopefully won't be too long now...

    - Poor Chloe, the secretary. She gets douched on by everyone at CTU, even Kim. I'm thinking she's either going to 1) go insane and kill everyone in the office or 2) somehow save the day an become a hero. Either way, it's all good.

    - I'm totally not feeling the drug dealer storyline. Sure, any scene with Salazar is pretty good, but the whole "brother and his girlfriend" plotline sucks balls.

    - Will 24 jump the shark this year, like season 2's mid-season nuclear explosion? Will the attempt on Palmer's life come back into play? Will the mastermind(s) behind last year's bomb-the-crap-outta-the-Middle East scheme return? Will we get to see Nina again? Mandy? Sherry? Will Kim go topless? Will Jack die?

    Discuss.

    I don't like, I love 24...Best show on TV...

    1) Jack is a total badazz...

    2) Kim is so hot...She could wear a trashbag and still look hot...I like the "Hot for Teacher" look...

    3) Chase is a dumbass and so boring...

    4) I wish Sherie and Lynn would come back in some form or fashion...

    5) The drug thing is slow and I hope it turns into something good...Hector's girlfriend is so hot too... ;)

    6) Kyle Singer is gay...His girlfriend is hot though...

    7) I hope they inter-twine the attempt on Palmers life somewhere within the next 20 hours...

Why can't President Palmer give Jack a pardon before leaving office? That action still won't undermine his "don't negotiate with terrorists" view.

Either that or Jack is going to die at the end of the season.

No way he lives on forever as a fugitive after sucessfully completing this mission (AND HE WILL SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE IT! He's Jack for crying out loud!)

I hate to admit it, but I'm not as much into this season as the first two. I don't know why though.

Can someone give me a rundown of the last episode? I fell asleep nearly at the beginning.

I think the first couple episodes got of to a slow start. Too many love interest storylines (Palmer, Chase/Kim, Michelle/Tony) etc. I was pretty worried there for a couple weeks the show was done. The action picked up the last few episodes, and the 24 we all know and love is back.

I love how they can take a guy in Jack Bauer who can get the President on the phone and has all the resources at CTU at his disposal and still make him an underdog.

I haven't been into this season of 24 as much as the previous 2 either. I had high expectations after last years nuclear bomb storyline.

It's picked up though, some of the characters like Chase and Kyle Singer i could do with out. I wish they wouldn't have killed off Mason last year. He was definitely one of the better actors. This year, it was Tony getting shot, so i don't know how much of a role he'll play now.

Jack will not get killed off. Every single season the same thing happens. Look at season 2. Jack was going to fly the airplane into the canyon killing him but saving LA. Kiefer Sutherland carries that show. Without him on it, the show wouldn't last.

I've been watching the ratings. They have been solid, but down from last season so far.

Chase is a cocky punk. I wish he'd get taken hostage in the prison riot and be made someone's b****. Unfortunately there were more clips of his "badass" image single-arm cocking a shotgun in the next episode, so that is just wishful thinking.

What's with all of the annoying people at CTU this season? Between Chloe being overly sensitive and "the guy that sits across from Kim" who is the annoying IT know it all, I don't know which one I want the mole to whack first. Hell, even the mole is annoying. I agree Chloe probably will be the one to save the day after Kim puts herself in another bad position.....hopefully in her underwear. :D

So far, it's not up to the level of Season 1 or even the inferior Season 2. But we're only 4 episodes in, so let's wait and see where the storyline goes.

What concerns me is how the producers have openly admitted that they didn't plan anything beyond the 6th episode heading into this season. It's obvious that the virus plot will be dealt with by 6 or 7 PM(assuming Salazar sticks to his word), so that leaves 3/4 of the day. What'll they do next?

Kiefer Sutherland said that they filmed for 6 months. I'm sure they have everything worked out.

Why did they put Kim in a jacket this year?
Run form that cougar Kim. Run from the cop Kim.

Atleast Michelle has a little cleavage this year.

    I have a question:

Why would they forward Season 3 three years from Season 2?

The 1st episode jumps into a whole new thing w/ the virus and the drug dealing. I thought they would continue the storyline from last season. What was that all about?

All the plot lines concluded with the 24th episode. There was no point in starting season 3 right where season 2 left off. The only plot that didn't end was the attempted assasination on Palmer. The creators had said they weren't sure if Dennis Haysbert was going to be in the 3rd season. They didn't want to deminish his role so just in case they allowed him to go out in a blaze of glory. Obviously they found a way to use him so the assasination failed.

Season 2 didn't pick up where season 1 left off. Actually the 2nd season fast forwards a year and a half.

Let's see what i can remember

Kyle Singer and his girlfriend got away from the police but were caught by the 2 guys who were following him. They took both Kyle and his girlfriend and put them into some kind of Isolation bubble.

Jack wanted to return Salazar to his brother. He didn't think that they could locate the virus within the 2 hour time period. Palmer said he wouldn't negotiate with terrorists. Jack finds away to go around that. He goes to the prison where Salazar is being held. Chase is there interogating him. Jack goes behind Chase and puts him in the sleeper. He then begins to take Salazar to the exit. I believe that is where it leaves off.

Jack is trying to make this mission look like he's become a rogue agent, so Palmer can save face even though he basically gave him the go ahead.

Jack was able to get the release from Salazar thanks to some help from Kim. At the very end, the warden discovers Chase tied up in Salazars jail cell. That's when the sirens start to go off.

It should be aired again on Monday at 4pm on FX, I think. Or maybe Tuesday at 4pm. At least that's what they did last year.

May want to get the TIVO/VCR set up.

Anyone else feel that Jack is going to die this season? My wife is convinced of it.

I agree. As much as I love this show, I think it has run its course. How many times can Jack and the President be faced with such problems in one term? A fourth season would seem ludicrous. Hell, a third time for a catastrophic event is implausible enough.

Plus the only thing that could shock us now is Jack's death. I mean we've already detonated a nuke on U.S. soil (which I really wish they would slyly make note to every now and then. I'm sure Los Angeles received some fallout)

I don't know if Jack will die or not, but I'm not really sure why one would need to equate believability to a fictional show like this one. If you want to argue that, then season 2 probably shouldn't have been made since it's very doubtful that Jack would go through that twice, much less three times.

On the other hand, how much of this really goes on that we have no idea about (sans nuclear bomb blowing up outside of Los Angeles)?
