Ok this is one primarily for the Europeans in here! The Roskilde Festival in Denmark is one of the world's largest music festivals, well it is certainly the largest in northern europe with about 100,000 people staying there in the four festival days. The music has always been good but this year it is extraordinary I think. We have -the new and ready to rock again Metallica- and Iron Maiden for the headbangers and we have great bands as Coldplay and Blur. New York rapper NAS will also come and play. There are lots of other great musicians coming and will be great. I am going for the first time this year and I can't wait to hear Metallica they are going to blow the speakers. Have any of you guys ever been there or would you like to?
All I have to say to that is, you are one lucky guy! I have heard some really great live performances that were recorded at Roskilde...and read some web-blogs describing the events at the festival...and it sounds like a helluva party!...enjoy.. btw...Maiden will blow Metallica off the stage!.. seriously...it should be a great show with those two...I have come down hard on Metallica in the past...but they are pretty good live and as long as they stick to their earlier catalog...they do still kick ass live.
I've heard of Roskilde, I've had euro-friends that have gone, but I've never been! Way cool show though...
my father-in-law is setting up a business distributing the products of a company from denmark...i think i may be visiting in the next couple of years or so...maybe. when i do, i'll email you and ask for places i have to see while i'm there.

I am so dumb that I dont know how to make the quotes appear correctly, but someone was asking about Sigur Ros and yes they have been playing there in the past and will be there this year also. I don't really know the guys what kind of music do they play? I agree that Iron Maiden will be fun but not better than Metallica no way!! It's funny how Iron Maiden in Denmark at least has got their own kind of revival with super hot chicks wearing their old T-shirts and such. Pretty cool I think. MadMax you are welcome to write and I will gladly help you out with some good advice. It is still not to late to get tickets!!
Unfortunately I never made it there although I lived in DK for two years. Hopefully I'll get to go someday.
