Everytime we play against the San Antonio Spurs, the rookies on this team always step it up. First, it was Terence Morris blocking David Robinson's shot. Then, Eddie Griffin had a highlight block on Tim Duncan as Duncan was trying to get to the hoop. We also had Tierre Brown's stylish play where he was dribbling with his right, crossed it over to his left, dribbled the ball behind his back, and went through a crowd of defense for a tough up and under move as he drove to the basket. Oscar Torres also had one of the best games of his career aginst the Spurs.
I'd rather have the starting 5 all turn up so there is no need for any of our great rookies to step up. Exception: if the rookie is starting (Eddie ) he should star for the game.
I think we have a favourable matchup at the 3 spot, as well as PG. Whether it's Kenny, Griffin, or T-Mo at the 3, Bowen won't be able to match up. They're in our favour. Unless, they switch Bowen over to defend Cat? I don't know. What I do know is, we need 3 things: Big minutes for Cato and Willis. Big game from Francis. Big game from our SF. I do hope we see some excellent play from Griff though. On a side note, I never knew Rasheed Wallace was so good at hitting 3's. Another similarity with Griffin. So imagine, the Rockets, but with Rasheed Wallace (+shotblocking)? Contenders?
