if the point guard can't shoot the 3, you can't spread the floor. I know its been discussed again and again, but please get someone, even Dan Dickau I don't care.

Hes right, the only time Rafer did his job was the streak, what if we had a PG that could do that all the time?

    Dan Dickau.

You know what guys. These threads should just be ignored. What's the point of arguing the same thing for the hundredth time.

Especially since there is a 50-50 chance a team with Derek Fisher, and a team with Rajon Rondo starting at the point can be NBA champions.

    First things first.

Let's make it out the first round.

We haven't made it to the second round with Yao or T-Mac.

    Let's trade them!!

Too many people are overvaluing DJ Augustin.

He's another undersized combo guard. We've already got one of those.

True, it would be nice to upgrade the PG position, but I think the Rox bigger issues are: 1) health and 2) bench scoring.

    man, this is so true.

you'll always be considered a loser, castoff, reject, not good enough til you win the big one.

i used to bag on kenny's D and him not driving to the lane ever.

er... two championships later (and a great young backup... brooks anyone?) i decided to stop being so critical.

I don't know why everyone is so caught up on bench scoring when 3 of our 5 starters cannot consistently create their own shot, and the other 2 have had only 1 70 games played season between them since 2004-2005.

We NEED a 3rd option...PG would be the position I most want to upgrade at.

Hinrich would be nice but he is overpaid.
Arenas would be nice but I don't think we could afford him.

Rafer is a good deal at 4.5 mil. We can't get a better PG for less or even equal that. We would likely have to pay double that for a Pg that would make a difference.

The key is Mike Miller. We can win with Rafer if we just get some more help that can create shots at other positions.

I would like a true PG coming off the bench though. Augustin, Marcus Williams...something like that.

Scola is a fine 3rd option, not a good 2nd at all. Rafer will be bumped back down to 4th option next year and he's pretty good for a 4th option.

Scola is still far too inconsistent as a 3rd option. Whether he can settle down, hit the open midrange jumpers and develop a consistent post game has yet to be seen, and that development could take years...something this particular group does not have IMO. That Utah series was very discouraging IMO in terms of Scola showing he can carry a good portion of the offensive responsibility. Showed many weaknesses that make me believe that signing/trading for a true 3rd option (Artest/Miller/etc...) is necessary.
