Curious if anyone realises that we are in 5th place in western conference. and that if we would have won one more game against the hornets we would be in 1st place instead. Ive only followed the NBA since the early 90's or so. just watched the celtics vs laker games in the 80's. But for me this is a very very weird year. I still have faith/hope that the rockets can still get that 1st spot. this spur game is the clincher. we can still obviously lose the 1 st spot even if we win against them. but i dont think it will be possible for us if we lose it though. GOOOOOO rockets.
We were in the 3rd before the Spurs played tonight...due to them winning obviously is why we got bumped down to 5th.
This has been a great season to be a Rocket fan. Half game out of first, in 5th place. Wow. Just wow. One way to look at it is one more win against the Hornets and we are in first. Another way to look at it is we needed every one of those 22 in a row, because the distance between the Wests one through nine seeds is less than the distance between one and two in the East.
Yes, I agree. I think our most optimal playoff seeding is if it is against Utah and especially if we have the homecourt advantage based on better record. I would like our chances against the Jazz this year even more in a 7 game series with homecourt.
i don't want to be 3rd, or that'll likely mean we'll play the spurs or suns. but, if we are 1st or 2nd, then we get to play denver, warriors, or dallas. which i prefer over utah. so, if we are positive we can't get 1st or 2nd, i'd like us to tank it, all the way to 5th.
oh come on! this is what makes it fun in the western conference the fact that this season is so memorable for precisely this reason--that people have been talking seeding since February!
I kinda don't want to be 1st. GS can be dangerous. 2nd would be best, because we would most likely play Dallas.
If we play how we are suppose to play, I can only see us falling as far as sixth place. If we lose games that we are suppose to win, it could be worse.
i dont think it matters. just about every team is tough. and i think the mavs with dirk will give me us as many problems as the warriors will.
Why are we in 5th?????? Houston and Lakers until the game with Memphis is over have the same record and Houston have the tiebreaker. Why the have us at 5th even if it doesn't matter after the Memphis game.
