Please, hear me out before you start throwing bricks my way.

I know you guys hate Tracy, but the fact is he is still only 31 years old. He wants to win a championship before he retires, every player does. Morey can sign him in the off season for the full MLE.

If everyone is healthy the Rockets would finally have some real talent around Tracy and Yao something they've never had before. I don't want to post the line ups of the playoff team Rockets in 05, 07, and 08 but they had very little talent around Yao and McGrady. IIRC, over 90% of the points in game sevens came from Tracy and Yao. The bench, and the role players did a terrible job. They were old and slow. 2011 is the year the Rockets can finally have some tall, young, talented, and athletic players along with the greatest bench in the league to put around Ming and McGrady. Scola, Brooks, and Ariza are great complimentary players and take care of all of our previous weaknesses especially in the PG and PF positions.

The Rockets have managed to develop Brooks into a very good PG this season, and he played great next to McGrady in the back court if anyone remembers. Tracy still has a nice passing game. I'm positive he can still feed the ball to Yao and Scola like he did very well in the past. He never lost that aspect of his game. He averaged 5 APG. He was a great facilitator for a SG who took as many shots as he did.

Artest, Kobe, and Fisher are getting older and slower while the Rockets are getting younger and quicker. The Rockets would easily be the best team in the west if no one gets hurt.

    Yao / Hayes / (1st round pick)
    Scola / Hill
    Ariza / Battier
    McGrady / Martin / Buddinger
    Brooks / Lowry

Not only do you want McGrady back, you want him starting over Martin, and think he's worth the full MLE.

    .............

    So, uh, no. Just...... no.

maybe we should hire him as assistant coach instead. I don't know if it's just me, but lately, I see him teaching his teammates how to run plays a lot. We could use that BBall IQ

If we sign him for less that would be nice. I think teams will be after him once they see the 03ers re-sign with their teams. Martin is a great, but he folds under pressure. Have you seen his playoff numbers? He cant facilitate the ball and get others involved while being in the game.

Why don't the Rockets go ahead and sign Marbury for PG and AI for SG for good measure?

    Marbury
    AI
    T-mac
    Scola
    Yao

    That's a winner.

Having t-mac with us instead of NY can be the difference of us getting a lottery pick or first rounder so why not :p
