Including tonight, is just horrible! How can anyone expect the Rockets to make it in the play-offs while we are playing like this? What in the hell has gotten into this team?

    See: Utah Jazz.

And the funny thing is, we're losing to the same teams!

They're coasting. It's obvious. Their defensive intensity is non-existent. They were horrible down the stretch against Utah. They were terrible the entire night against the Warriors. Portland's low point total was a fluke IMO since they were missing even more players than we were that game. And tonight is like a repeat of the Golden State game. No D whatsoever. The Kings are getting whatever they want on the offensive end.

Good points. And the important thing to remember about the Rockets is that we are team built around playing hard-nosed and in-your-face defense for 48 minutes. We aren't built to post 3-digit scores night in and night out like the Suns and Mavs. If we don't bring it on the defensive end, we can't be counted to win. After all, even if Yao and T-Mac play great, we can only expect 50-60+ points from our two superstars. There aren't enough offensive weapons on this team to win if the defense isn't there.

I can't understand why they have such disregard for the home court. Makes no sense. Utah is definitely doing their part.

Yeah, JVG thinks resting our stars and playing Bonzi is better then snatching HCA, when the Jazz have a stellar home record and a .500 road record. I don't understand it either.

You didn't watch his interview from yesterday, did you? JVG couldn't make it more clear that he strongly values home court.

It's tough to give 100 percent when you've been battling all season night in night out, and now there are only 6 games until the playoffs and these last 6 games don't mean anything in terms of who you're going to face.

They should have days with either just Tracy or just Yao. Our role players are lazy when we have them both.

seriously we should have almost a 3 game lead over Utah right now, they should be looking like they are about to fall off the face of the earth with the Kirelinko injury.

but we are both limping in to this one, to see who gets eaten by dallas.

I'm hoping things will turn around some. McGrady looked pretty serious in the second half yesterday. Yao hasn't been inspiring at all - but it did look like his back was killing him.

The guy I would most like to see go off is Battier. For all he's given us on D, he's been a wallflower on offense.

What do you want Battier to do? He can either get a couple of looks in the low post with his hook shot (depending on who is guarding him) or he can shoot a corner 3ptr. But that is really more dependant on his teammates creating that shot for him. He is who he is. He is an end result player.

Battier and Hayes are nice role players. But they are TOTALLY dependand on others to create shots for them. And usually that's Tmac and NOT Rafer.

Do we need offense from a "3rd scorer"? Yes we do. But that's not Battier. Right now it's by committee with Rafer/Luther/Howard/Bonzi etc. But ultimately this team needs to find a single player to play that role.

Maybe I'm just fooling myself, but I watch him play and can't understand how he couldn't be more of a scorer than he is. I look at what Juwan is doing, especially when McGrady and Yao are off the court, and don't see how Shane couldn't be doing the same if asked. His handle isn't much to speak of, but he does have an effective half-hook with either hand, a good jumper from any range, and enough IQ to facilitate the offense out of a high post.

I'm not suggesting he "should" do this or is disappointing us by not doing it - just saying I can envision him doing it. I noticed that he's having one of his best years with us on offense, and that blows my mind. I look at him and see a guy that should be good for 15-6-6 a night.

Which is why I think we won't win it this year.
