Guys, I know you people are tired of the Rockets losing, but I think the Rockets should go through one more bad year. I know you guys might not think so and want them to win now, I just think if they get a high lottery pick next year, they could get a quality big man that can maybe help slow Shaq down, since stopping Shaq is impossible. There is a couple of pretty good big guys with potential in next year's draft, like Loren Woods(future all-star if he adds more muscle, he is a great defender and shotblocker, offense needs a little work), Brendan Haywood(lots of potential, kind of like Kenny Thomas in that has lots of talen but has no work ethic, but Haywood has a huge body that could go against Shaq's), and Eddy Curry(this high school kid is very dominant, and is nicknamed Baby Shaq, his is huge though he could be taller, he is 6'11", but he is only 17 so he might still grow). The Rockets have no chance to win the title next year, so why not pull off what the Spurs did to get Duncan. Have a losing season to get a high pick in the lottery next year. This would make the Rockets a much better team with Francis, Shandon, Mobley(if they sign him back), a better Cato, this year's draft pick(whether it's Dermarr, Moiso, or Miller), and a big man from next year's draft. This is just a thought, if the Rockets try and win now, they won't get very far, but if they get a good big man, they can go farther.

    No.

Shaq will get calls his way versus any rookie that he is playing against. There is an opportunity for the Rockets to step up and hanging around in the lottery is regressive.

tanking a season so we can have a chance at getting loren woods or eddy curry is tempting because i think that would make us strong championship contenders for many years but i doubt thats what the rockets plan on doing.

Loren Woods or Brandon Heywood effective against Shaq? That's a joke, right?

Tanking might be a hard habit to break. Players need to play to win so we know the next season who can or cannot produce when the chips are on the line. Makes it easier to bring in the right players for the right positions. That is why we got Shandon to sign cheap as a free agent, he wanted to go to a contender.

    Good point No Chance.

Also, in a few years when we're championship contenders, it'll be Kobe we'll have to worry about and not Shaq as much. The Reason I say this is becuz Shaq is already in his 8th year, and he will be aging. Most of his points come from just powering people over and getting offensive rebounds and dunks. While he will still be able to do that, he wont have the stamina that he has today.

i dont think anybody will every completely stop shaq when shaq is himself. As for the rockets tanking the season...THEY CANT. We have a arena on the ballot this year and if we tank then it wont look good and could lessen the chances of the rockets getting a new arena. THEY CANT TANK
