So after taking the day off for rest of his shoulder, Tracy McGrady reappeared in the Rockets team practice on April 10, in preparation for the crucial game versus Phoenix Suns. But Shane Battier took leave of absence due to his leg injury.
So from the photos of the team practice, Luther Head, Uncle Mutombo, Rafer Alston and Bob Jackson must be continuing their free throw competition, carried forward from the April 9 team practice. http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2008-04-11/12183590735.shtml In the above article reported by Zheng Peng of Basketball Pioneers, Luther Head, Uncle Mutombo, Rafer Alston, Bob Jackson and Aaron Brooks stayed behind after the team practice on April 9 to compete on their free throws. The rule of the competition was simple. If the player makes both free throws, 1 mark will be added (i.e. he will get 3 marks). If he misses the 1st free throw, 1 mark will be deducted; if he misses the 2nd free throw, 2 marks will be deducted. The first player that makes 20 points can then call it for the day and leave. So when the competition was on, every of the Rockets tried to detract the others by doing all sorts of crazy stuff....Uncle Mutombo would throw his left and right jabs like a boxer when another player was shooting his free throws. Bob Jakson would suddenly sing (but unfortunately out of tune and key) when his team mate was concentrating to release his free throws. Luther Head was the honest guy who just kept on giggling. Aaron Brooks just kept rubbing his sneakers against the floor to make noise and took off his head band and waved. Rafer Alston was the naughtiest of them all.....he would suddenly shouted out loud, or he would laugh very loud, or he would crack a joke just to disturb his team mates. The results of the competition was: Luther Head was the first to finish with 20 points Aaron Brooks the second Bob Jackson the third Uncle Mutombo the fourth Rafer Alston came last.
That's pathetic. No reason why a center who shoots less than 70% in his career should beat your starting PG in FT shooting. Of course Rafer was never a good FT shooter - his best FT shooting year was 77% and a career 72% shooter
Its not easy to make freethrows when a 41 year old guy is throwing punches in your face and a 35 year old guy singing songs out of tune.
After a convo with him, in 2-3 years headlines will say "Houston Rockets' Fan Wins 22 Straight Megaball Lottery Grand Prize."
didn't know Cleo was a rocket fan. tell me how far do we go in the playoffs this year and who we play?
